When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

Don't watch it! It's a trap! First of all the photography is awful! Then there's no subtlety in the direction. Finally, actors play like there's in a soap without the fun of it. Children aren't bad but far as good as children in "Who can kill a child?" So let's watch again the nice and fun film of Narcisco Ibáñez Serrador and let's forget about this awful ripoff!

I'm not a horror movie person but sometimes one pleasantly surprised me; I only watched this on demand bc of the critic rating which was over 70%, guess I watched a TOTALLY different flick! I'm the type of person who needs answers and t

From the many good reviews and great praises this movie had gotten, then I had my expectation up high. But I must say that the movie failed to live up to those expectations. While the premises were quite interesting and the movie did offer some unique things, it just didn't push the right buttons for me.The story is about two families away together on a countryside vacation. And what starts as an idyllic vacation with snow and fun suddenly turns into a fight for their lives as their children mysteriously turn ill and start attacking the adults.Personally I found the no description of what caused the children to go berserk an interesting thing, because it keeps the audience in the dark and guessing. But I could also see how it would be a cause of frustration to some. And the fact that it is children who kill and also gets killed is something rarely seen in movies. So director Tom Shankland deserves a thumbs up for breaking the norm and going into taboo land. There were some good enough death scenes and a bit of blood and gore too. And again the director dares to show stuff that goes past what is commonly seen in movies. However, there was just something missing from the movie in order for it to really captivate me. I don't know what it was, but it just lacked that special ingredient.

In the movie, "The Children" 2 very different sisters, blond Elaine and dark-haired Chloe get together for the holidays to ring in the New Year. Elaine, Chloe, and their families are British and this movie was filmed in the UK countryside. It took me a while to understand British slang, though. Elaine, husband Jonah, and 3 children, young daughter Miranda, young son, Paulie, and scowling teen daughter Casey are visiting Chloe and her husband Robby, young son, Nicky and little daughter, Leah for the holiday. Casey is moody, hormonal and in other words, a normal teen. Jonah, her step-dad has grounded her from seeing her friends and Casey mopes around while her siblings and cousins run around like hellions. Paulie is a very solemn boy and he isn't feeling very well. He throws up and cries, much to Casey's annoyance. Elaine helps him. The next day, the other kids, with the exception of Casey are all throwing up and becoming homicidal in their intentions against their parents. The transformation of perfectly normal, rambunctious children into homicidal monsters is chilling. The makeup on the kids is great too! They honestly looked like very sick children! The movie has a slow buildup, the performances are excellent, and the children are very frightening!
