The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;

Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.

Resident Evil Retribution: Movie Review. I enjoyed the film to a certain point. The movie has some major issues but at the same time its a fun time watching zombies getting kicked by Alice. Resident Evil Retribution is a visually spectacular, stunning, stylish film with amazing and awesome 3D effects and character design. The cinematography is fantastic and the fight sequences choreography is excellent. The locations and set pieces are dazzling and innovative. The performance of Milla Jovovich is good and strong.The major issue with the film is that the story is very weak and convoluted and characters are very underdeveloped. The sequences are very fast paced and are confusing and complicated. Some scenes are dull and boring. The movie lacks proper and smooth structure and the characterizations are heavily underutilized due to the weak script and unconvincing screenplay.(Please Note: That This Review represent only my professional point of view and my personal honest opinion about the film, and does not represent others. Thank You).

After the events of the previous, fourth, instalment in the franchise Alice is a captive of the sinister Umbrella Organisation. She escapes from the room she had been held in with the help of Ada Wong. Ada tells her that her erstwhile enemy Albert Wesker no longer works for the Umbrella Corporation. Umbrella is now run but the 'Red Queen'. It is explained that Alice is being held at a large underground facility in what was once a Soviet submarine base on the remote Kamchatka Peninsula. The base is a test facility that contains accurate reconstructions the centres of New York, Tokyo and Moscow as well as the suburbs of Racoon City. Alice and Ada are to work their way through the facility to meet up with a commando team that is coming to rendezvous with them. As they progress Alice turns that Umbrella has been using the zones to test various 'biohazards' on a clone populations. Some of these clones are based on Alice and as they pass through the suburbs she meets Becky, the daughter of one such clone, and determines to rescue her.This film is very much about bridging the gap between the fourth and the final instalments of the series; knowing this is a bit of a problem as no matter what the threat or how bad things look we know Alice will ultimately survive. The other characters were okay but weren't really developed enough to care about. It isn't all bad of course; I liked the character of Becky, she reminded me of Newt from 'Aliens' and I did care about her survival. There is lots of action; the fight scenes are really rather good as were the various monster attacks. However the CGI effects are a bit too obvious at times… just because a film is inspired by a video game doesn't mean that it should occasionally look like one! The cast do a decent enough job. Overall this is far from great but it is a decent enough way to pass an hour and a half if you enjoyed the previous films in the series.

The Resident Evil series jumped the shark with Afterlife and I thought Retribution would be just that: retribution. I thought they'd use this movie as a means of making amends, righting the wrongs, correcting the blunders and all that good stuff. Instead they laid another egg. Again the acting was poor, the story half-brained and the fight sequences putrid. There was nothing redeeming about exposed gun fights with high powered automatic weapons yielding no target hits (besides the faceless goons), or the slow motion, bordering paranormal fight sequences that were horribly choreographed and terribly executed. And is it too much to show someone actually running when they're running? You know: arms moving, head bobbing, face contorted with heavy breathing and other known characteristics associated with running. Instead we get glamour running. Hair neatly flowing in the wind, face at ease and arms and legs moving symmetrically all in slo-mo. This movie did nothing to atone for Afterlife. This was no retribution.

Resident Evil: Retribution is more of the same Zobies, Alien dogs that look like Venom and Zombies with Predator's mouth. Mindless fun with some dumb moments like the scene where Barry Burton (Durand) gets shot multiple times then opens his eyes grabs the gun shoots the guy who got sliced in little cubes in the first movie and gets shot again and dies. The story with this one is pretty confusing for example there are 3 freaking characters who died and come back and they work with Umbrella and they try to kill Alice although i don't complain about Jill she was the best part of Apocalypse alongside Alice and Carlos. The problem with this movies is this for example in the 4th one which is still the least best on the series we see Alice, Claire and Chris standing side by side watching the planes coming in this one they're both gone but in the new one which it will come out on 2017 i think Claire returns? but Jill no? Anyways it's more of the same it's kinda confusing although the cgi has been improved those shots that come in front of our faces have still left including the slow motion. I have to give them credit for the Theme song from the Opening Scene Rocks. I'm giving Resident Evil 5 an 8 out of 10 it was pretty nice and i have fun with it although Michelle Rodriguez turning into a freaking Universal Soldier turned me off a bit.
