This movie what should I tell about it , " This Movie is Just Great & Amazing " and this is my opinion after watching it . Before going into this movie I did not expect that it would be so amazing , entertaining, moving and heart touching .This movie relaxed Me. Since beginning till end you will not find it boring even for a second. This is among those movies which have "Feel Element " " Love Element" in them . When you will watch it you will feel it .I will not reveal anything about the plot and story of this movie which I always do whenever I write a review for a movie so that you can enjoy it to the fullest. I rarely write review for movies because I think that I am not so good in reviewing movies but This Movie forced me to do it because It is and was such a Nice, Great & Amazing Movie . Just Go & watch it to Enjoy & to Feel it . For me this movie is worth 10 Stars out of 10 ********** .

I had low expectations going into this film, perhaps expecting another '500 Days of Summer' rip off, but no, this is a good film that more than deserves the praise it receives. The two leads are very good in their roles, and the script allows them both to have moments that mean we root for them as people. It's honest about teenage life, and doesn't sugar coat moments just to make this a good popcorn movie. It's rare that I watch a film that I engage with so much, and one I can see myself going back and watching again and again. The Art of Getting By is one of these films.

Well, this is a film that I found very interesting to watch, as well as review. To start off, let's talk about the positive. Emma Roberts, one of my favourite actresses, delivers another stellar performance, combining the beauty, charm & open-minded traits to her character. The music used is very appropriate & emotive, allowing the viewer to relate to each scene. But now, the negatives. The negatives involves the story line sadly, as it left me very emotive & compelled me to write my first review for a long time. First of all, the character of the protagonist is such a self-righteous c**t that he brings pessimism & pain onto others. He causes a confrontation between his stepfather & himself, whilst his mother is too lenient on him, thus meaning he continues into wallow in self-pity until his family's debts causes him to finally get his diploma. The other negative I had with this film, is that Roberts' character is like a Hollywood promotion of cheating. She gets rejected by the protagonist, goes after his painting idol, then decides to cheat on the latter with the former. Eventually she ends up with the protagonist, but the feelings of the painter are never explored once he is left hanging high-and-dry in the airport. Amazingly, the film somehow works itself out in the end. Don't get me wrong, this was actually a really enjoyable film, but the message being sent is that it is OK to be pessimistic & a complete misery to be around, at the same time its OK to cheat on someone because she 'loves' someone else!

I watched this, thinking I would be fairly satisfied with what I saw, and maybe even end up loving the movie more than I expected. Unfortunately, I was wrong. Overall, the movie was completely sloppy and character development was just unrealistic and off. And the "love" story was not the saving grace either. Don't get me wrong, teenage love stories are my weakness. But this just didn't make sense. Characters were just too all over the place. Suddenly the misanthropic male has actually been in love with the girl the whole time? Really? And then, no wait, the girl loves him too? Oh wait, the girl loves him so much she decides to cheat on her boyfriend only to go and meet him at the airport anyway? No wait, she doesn't end up going on a plane! What a surprise! And don't even get me started on that painting at the end. Of all the things the kid could have painted (I'm sure the kid has had a lot of struggles) he decides to paint the girl???? Really???? Their relationship did not even seem that significant or had any impact (everything just came suddenly) and that's really who/what he paints? Disappointed. Only gave it a 4 cause I really like Freddie and the concept of the movie.
