Naked Killer (1992)

How sad is this?

Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.

Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.

This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.

This movie is awesome. It is very similar in plot to Out of Sight, but in my opinion it is a billion times better. I guess it is the erotic scenes that add much more to it as this fully delves into the love that exists between the killer and the cop.Naked Killer is about a woman, Kitten, who witnesses her father murdered by her stepmother's lover. She vowels revenge and storms his office and kills him. After that she finds herself trapped and inevitably turns to an assassin for help. She helps her and takes her in and trains her. Her advice always acts around being seductive but avoiding a relationship as that unhinges you and makes you a less effective killer. Sex is bad because it attaches you to somebody. Unfortunately Kitten is attached to a cop who she cannot get away from.They really emphasis this relationship in the fact that this is the only woman that he has met that arouses him. He is determined not to leave her, and in the end she folds and runs to his arms, but can now never return to the world of the killers.It is the plot that gives this movie a lot of strength. The plot is a standard Romeo and Juliet plot, but the character developments far surpass that of Out of Sight. The action scenes in this movie are at the excellent standard of Hong Kong cinema, and the movie climaxes in a tragic ending.As is typical for this movie, a path is created that leads to only one ending. The path is followed by the choices that the characters make and once one makes the choice, the end is inevitable. A tragedy of a high standard is when one sees these choices and knows the implications. If we treat this as realistic then the choices that are made have a much greater impact. The two tragic choices occur when Kitten decides to take revenge on her stepmother's lover, and when she reveals herself to the cop. These decisions send her down a path from which she can never return. Though choices exist, they are not ones that she is willing to make.I must say that this is a brilliant movie, though the one that I watched was the unedited version. I do not know what the Chinatown Video version is like, but the movie is still one that is phenomenally brilliant.

Skin tight hot pants and a laugh that will keep you interested. That's Kitty (Chingmy Yau), the lead in this action yarn that has a hot edge. It is the prelude to Raped by An Angel (aka naked Killer 2).Mom's lover kills Kitty's dad and she goes on a rampage that leaves a couple of dozen dead. Of course, she is helped by Sister Cindy (Wai Yiu), who teachers her how to do it right - be a cleaner, that is.The movie is really funny. When one of the cops eats a victim's "wedding tackle" thinking it was a sausage, I busted a gut.It was funny, lots of action, beautiful girls, but it was PG-13 at best.

This one is a delight, although not always deep, it has a great cast of characters played very well by veterans of the Hong Kong film industry. "Kitty" for example is a former Miss Hong Kong, a fact that in the US means little but in Hong Kong means a ton, because to earn that coveted title the young woman must be much, much more than attractive, she must be versatile, smart and snappy. This film is an excellent example of the finest in second generation HONG KONG action. It has comedy, erotic tension, martial arts combat, dazzling gun play, and loads of lethal ladies. More importantly, the story is simple but captivating, with characters you can love or hate respectively, and the cinematography is razor sharp, using strong hues to paint each scene in mood and mystery when needed, or flooding scenes with light in time to punctuate the occasional comic relief. In short, a fun romp with lots of killer scenes. Enjoy!

If you're into so called 'chinatown' action movies then this is one to watch. I was fortunate to see the director's cut of this and it was great. There is a romance side to this but it's the guns and guts that is the main feature. Interestingly, and I what thought was good was the choice of the 'baddies'. When you see this you will find some cliches in it between some of the characters, following a well worn path, but the story and action more than make up for it. I gave it an 8 but then generally I prefer Hong Kong and Japanese action movies to American ones.
