This is a tender, generous movie that likes its characters and presents them as real people, full of flaws and strengths.

In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.

what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

oh Jesus this film where to start? I have never seen the original smoking aces but I saw this in a charity shop and thought why not the original is meant to be great. The plot itself I have no problem with bunch of killers hired to kill a guy they all want him but only one can cash in the reward. The writing, however was poor. The blonde girl was like a really annoying version of Sheri Moon Zombie (who I don't mind)and all the stupid forced lines that her family make just really annoys me. Vinny Jones came across as some sort of softie and falls in love with this girl he has just met in a bar which makes no sense. The FBI seem more incompetent than the are in real life if that's possible. The effects were god awful there are these terrible explosions that look like it was done in powerpoint. You know the kind that explodes and leaves no damage and it looks like it's just shoved on top of the background. There are CGI chairs blowing up which looks terrible and even the gunfire looks like a student project. This has put me off watching the original which is so highly regarded I like cheap B movies but this is abysmal. Would not recommend.

Smokin' Aces 2: Assassins' Ball is not the worst movie there is, although i allege the people affiliated with making it of trying very hard. It though is the worst movie I have personally managed to watch completely (I saw it with a good friend and after the first minutes we made something like a bearing contest out of it) and no, I couldn't endure more than a few minutes of Vercingétorix, so yes it might be worse, but that is not the point. Smokin' Aces 2: Assassins' Ball is just a very, very poorly made movie and I can't explain why there are people recommending or defending it or rating it with more than minimal one out of ten. Now that I have written all of this I'm hesitating, since I'm not sure if it will advance the films fast and eternal oblivion. But since I made the effort...

How hard up must Tom Berenger & Vinnie Jones to "Star" in this utter dross? Words simply cannot express how awful this film is.Apparently the title of worst film ever made currently is Plan 9 From Outer Space.Smoking aces 2 will SURELY take over that title - at least Plan 9 was so bad it was funny! This film had in my mind the following faults: Bad acting, bad script, bad special effects, bad action sequences. It didn't even have a surprise twist ending (EXACTLY same plot as Smoking Aces 2 - but with cheaper actors!) I almost feel resentful for taking the time on reviewing this awful waste of time, but I feel it is my civic duty to prevent others losing around 2 hours of their life on this piece of excrement! I would rather saw off my leg with a blunt rusty saw than be forced to watch this rancid pile of brown stuff! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!P.S I've ticked spoilers just in case - but how you can "spoil" arguably the worst film ever made I don't know!

Walter Weed is an unassuming desk jockey at the FBI when the Bureau uncovers a plot to assassinate him.A team of degenerate, psychotic assassins dispatched by mystery man Hal Leuco to win a huge bounty includes, a resourceful beauty who has a unique method of killing her prey, a power-tool wielding psychopath, and a deadly master of disguise.....There are a few nod to the original, and even the assassin from the first one who got away, but it's more of a side-quel to the previous film. And for once, i quite enjoyed this straight to blu-ray movie. Berenger looks a little constipated as the target, and has playing card skills (see what they did there!!), but does very little else, thus making the scenes with him and his guards, boring and a waste of time. The rest of the film is silly, but in a ridiculous, enjoyable way. The new assassins are more accessible than the the ones in the tournament, because they do a lot more than just shoot and run, they have a lot more involvement with the story, and a lot of scenes.Deaths are inventive, which for a film in this sub-genre is vital, and it's very funny at times. There is a twist, but you can see it from a mile off, and the best part of the film, is the final kill, because it's fresh not to drag out the point of interests death (you will know what i mean when you see the film).Plus it's the best film ever to feature exploding cannonball midgets.
