The Worst Film Ever

Terrible acting, screenplay and direction.

Nice effects though.

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

Some might say "cheap thrills" was warped, shocking and occasionally graphic. This movie wasn't intended for a regular audience. This is a solid twisted dark comedy top to bottom. Entertainment for entertainments sake. Just to be enjoyed, no hidden messages about the state of our culture, just a cool flick that within the first 20 minutes you'll probably have a pretty good idea where they are going with it. Totally satisfied and in adding it to my "cool twisted s*** list list" 8/10

Whoah! Finally a movie that exceeded my expectations!If a movie really hits home with me I usually like it from the very first second. I'll admit that the first seconds of Cheap Thrills wasn't very thrilling, but I knew it was horror(ish) and I knew it has a rather good IMDb-rating, so I just stuck it out, and it got good pretty quickly.The main character (Pat Healy) is likable. The movie looks good(and on a shoestring budget! kudos). The second main character (Ethan Embry) is good too. And the third main character, whaddayouknow, he is good too! But he is played by David Koechner, so I'm not surprised.I didn't know much about the movie before I watched it (I like it that way) so I was constantly guessing and wondering what would happen next. The movie has a great atmosphere.Alright, let me speed this along. Cheap Thrills is a well paced, exciting, fun movie. It is a take on something you have seen before, but it is very well made. Entertaining and never boring with likable characters.

From the first time I saw a trailer for this movie on YouTube, I was intrigued and wanted to see it badly. I am so glad I finally got the chance to see it and whole-heartedly believe this is one of the most entertaining movies I have ever seen in my entire life! The premise of the film is two down-on-their-luck friends from high school bump into each other at a local dive bar and come across a very wealthy couple looking for a good night on the town. Through a series of increasingly higher stakes dares for money (some that go to some pretty extreme and disturbing levels), these friends go head to head and it all leads to a very exciting denouement. This is one of the most original, most darkly humorous, most intense indie flicks I have ever come across. Now, when I came across this Bluray in the video store, it was listed under "Horror". I would not really consider the film that because it is much more a psychological thriller and plays out more like a Hitchcock film than a typical modern-day horror. If you are looking for laughs, sick and twisted imagery and great performances by a relatively unknown cast then I highly suggest "Cheap Thrills".

A gross-out movie based around a simple premise of what someone would do to earn money to save their family and their life (when you have little to none of course). The dares escalate as more and more money becomes involved, and it's all pretty intriguing stuff. But it's hard to shake the feeling that it could have done more with the premise and some of it is just outlandish for its own sake instead of being button pushing in a truly authentic way. The ending is also a bit of a let down. It makes sense, feels inevitable, and as a result, also a bit contrived. It's also a shame that Sara Paxton isn't given more to do.
