It's hard to see any effort in the film. There's no comedy to speak of, no real drama and, worst of all.

It's an amazing and heartbreaking story.

There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.

First: i'll try not to spoil what you are about to watch here, so i won't go into the plot that much. Rather will i admit: having seen SOME very weird movies in this genre i already roughly knew what general topic and quality i'd delve into, so there wasn't much of a surprise at first...but.... Now let me tell you, why i liked this movie:Many other reviews will give out too much information on the plot, or will have a strong disregard for this one. I don't know why that is.... OK. The movie started off a little slow so i went in a little bored even though i quickly saw and liked that they really tried to figure out a way to - and i mean this in both regards (real as "here and now-time", and also in "it has all the basics needed") - make a REAL movie out of it. It's quite well made regarding the shots and scenery, actors are OK, subplots are OK even though quite basic and not very breathtaking but it fits the purpose. And then...the actress (deadgirl). omfg! perfect! Haunting eyes and an awesome expression! Also there even was quite a shock scene, (i think it was the one where the protagonist dreams of her). Other than that... Sure..., it all is a little dull, but it is an enjoyable ride if you don't expect too much of it. It is a nice movie to watch for fun and definitely one of the better movies of this genre!Others might say that it weren't a satisfying viewing experience as it lacks a lot of elements that make a movie complete and that much of it makes no sense, but i guess i could at least directly name 20+ movies in this genre that are not even close to this one. Besides. It is a horror/zombie movie. It doesn't HAVE to make sense :)Again, don't expect too much. Just enjoy it! :)

"Deadgirl" is a disturbing thriller that will leave you feeling uncomfortable because hidden underneath the fictional scenario there are a lot of ugly truths. I can't exactly say that I liked the movie, but I was disturbed by It, and I think that is the intention of the people who made the film. The premise is that two high school seniors, Rickie (Shiloh Fernandez) and J.T. (Noah Segan) are frustrated. They are obsessed with women to the point they often don't consider them anything except sex objects, despite the fact that they have female friends. They also hold some amount of resentment towards them because neither have girlfriends, or are able to get dates. Not for any specific reason except for the fact that sometimes it just happens when you're in high school that from the limited pool of women you might consider asking that none of them are a correct match for you. One day, they discover a mute, naked woman in the basement of an abandoned psychiatric hospital. There's something wrong with this woman, so wrong that you might not even consider her a human (and I don't think you're Intended to) but this discovery reveals a terrifying nature about J.T., and some of the other high school students that will leave Rickie and you shaking.The set up is an original take on a zombie film, setting the dead girl more as a victim than a threat and setting up a conflict that both the characters and the audiences will have to confront: just because it looks and used to be human… does that mean that it is one? I feel like the movie does a good job of blurring the lines of morality, even if ultimately for me, what goes on In this film is profoundly wrong.A big problem that the film has is that the young men in the film are the true villains and there aren't really any characters to cheer for here, only some you hate less than others. The ending is also a disappointment, with some things happening with only a thin explanation and at least one complete character overhaul. The film deals with the exploitation and objectification of women through metaphor quite effectively. I really think that there is a lot of intelligence and ingenuity at work here but the fact of the matter is that some more casual movie goers who only watch movies to have a good time and not necessarily to be moved or to have their perceptions twisted and turned around simply will not be able to grasp onto this picture. Many will dismiss it as exploitative trash but if you can stomach it it's a well made film that will make you uncomfortable; and it should because it's about an unpleasant subject that needs to be discussed. This movie begins with 2 high school students named "Rickie" (Shiloh Fernandez) and "J.T." (Noah Segan) who decide to skip class and eventually end up at an abandoned mental facility in the middle of nowhere. As they tour the place they come upon a door that is rusted shut and after much exertion they finally manage to open it. What they find inside the room is a naked female strapped to a table who appears to be dead--but is very much alive. And J.T. knows exactly what he wants to do with her. Now, rather than reveal any more about this movie I will just say that this film is definitely not for general audiences as it has several graphic scenes involving nudity and rape—of a zombie no less. And it's this behavior of J.T. and his buddy "Wheeler" (Eric Podnar) that is probably the most unsettling thing about this film. Along with that, while I didn't particularly care for these specific scenes, the rest of the movie seemed rather slow and uneventful as well—at least up until the final 30 minutes or so. In summation, I doubt anybody--other than serious zombie enthusiasts--will consider this movie to be better than average and I have therefore rated it accordingly.

This movie was a waste of time. It has next to no story. It starts out well with good intentions but around half an hour into the movie it just turns into a 'rape-fest' nothing but a movie about teenagers having sex with a dead girl which is the most disturbing movie I have ever seen (and I've seen a few disturbing movies)I don't see how anyone could enjoy such a movie. "Deadgirl" has no story line, no contrast and is definitely not interesting. The whole time I was watching both myself and the person i was watching it with wanted it to finish.1 out of 10. I recommend you do not watch it.
