This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

I cannot recall having seen even one decent movie featuring Anne Heche; she seems to be jinxed and to be a jinx. In this flick she mumbles and swallows her lines, slurring many words in that irritating nasal style favoured by so many very young girls today: odd because Ms Heche is not a young girl. This absurd, time-waster film starts predictably, continues predictably, ends predictably, with no compelling scenes or real character development. At least the first several minutes had some light balance, but most of the remainder was shot in almost darkness -- probably to help hide the abysmal fx and pathetic acting. What can I say on a positive note about this cinematic experience? Well, it's over and I will never see it again! ADDENDUM: "aprilcathcart1965" rates it 9/10, but this is the ONLY movie that "aprilcathcart1965" has reviewed ... a crew or cast member or friend or relative? Ridiculous !!

A family drives around the country. They are lost and stop at a farm to ask for directions. There, the creepy farmer (aren't they all in the mind of Hollywood?) welcomes him, he was expecting him. He'll take them to their new house. The two daughters, Rebecca and Mary, notice a handsome guy killing a sheep and draining its blood.Turns out the family is pastor Dan's family and he is the town's new pastor. He meets the outgoing pastor and everyone is already helping move things. At church they are introduced and Rebecca again notices the guy from the farm leaving service. Afterwards she talks to him a bit.Back at home, Mary starts eating a piece of cake that someone gave them. She starts bleeding profusely out of her mouth and spits out something that looks like a huge tooth. The guy, Noah, shows up once again to take Rebecca out, but seeing the emergency throws away the cake and pockets the tooth. He and Mary walk around town for a bit till the farmer shows up and takes Noah with him. Turns out Noah lives with the outgoing Pastor who wants to know who was chosen. Noah says "Mary". Noah is worried. The Pastor tells him that it's unavoidable, that's how god wants it, there's nothing to be done and takes the tooth and stores in a little box with some other stuff. At night the family goes to what looks like the town's fair, but Mary quickly gets seek. She's taken home by the farmer. Actually he takes her to the pastor who does a ceremony with her blood using the tooth again and invokes something which takes possession of her. Mary ends up home and gets really sick, some black stuff runs through her, she vomits black stuff and her face changes as well. We've seen this black stuff before--Rebecca had dreams of it. Now Mary goes nuts and attacks the mom. Everyone runs outside, Noah arrives. Mary attacks the dad, and goes after her little brother and Mary who notice an X on all doors painted in blood.Nothing Left to Fear is an unusual horror movie in that it doesn't explain itself. We never find out what is going on or why. There are a lot of references to religion--sheep, light, Mary, etc. and a lot of familiar images--Rebecca notices how everyone in town has various cuts all over their bodies, but it doesn't come together to a significant whole. There really isn't much character development either. They tried to portray all these weaknesses as strength though. But are they? That's the question for the viewer. And I suspect that most people won't agree. Everyone is looking for meaning. And while we are given hints and images it's not enough to lead the viewer to come up with something, or to find the search for meaning interesting. At the same time, it's not like other movies that give you very little to go on and you are almost entirely free to make something out of it. This movie is in-between, it gives you something but not enough to go on.For a recent horror movie, it also features an unusual calmer pace. That I can see as a strength. There's no mad running around town for the last 30 minutes, no speaker-exploding noises and sound effects, which perhaps some would prefer. At the same time there are few scares, almost no sense of dread. What it does offer are some nice scenes of teen romance, a bit of creepiness rather than horror, and some nice sights of Louisiana.I don't think the filmmakers succeeded with their strategy. In the end it seems like a wasted effort that goes exactly nowhere.

Pastor Dan, his wife Wendy, and their three children Rebecca, Mary, and Christopher, have just moved to the small town of Stull, Kansas, where Dan will serve as the new pastor, taking over from pastor Kingsman. Unfortunately, after only a couple of days in town, things start to take a turn for the worse after Mary is taken ill and then kidnapped by one of the town's residents. It's here we find out that there is much more than meets the eye with pastor Kingsman and the other residents in the idyllic town of Stull. For all the criticising that this film received, it's actually not all that bad. It's not that good, but it's not as bad as what a lot of people have been saying about it.It starts off decent enough, and the story develops OK as it carries on, but it doesn't pick up much more after a certain point and seems to just stammer along at times. The biggest complaint story-wise for me is that it never explains why the town is the way it is, so there's a really a big hole there. If there was an explanation for it then it might have been that wee bit better but your left to just try and pick out the bones and come up with your own conclusions.Another unfortunate aspect is that it's not really all that scary. There are a few moments in it which are quite creepy, but other than that it is pretty lacking.By the way, the special effects for the demon aren't as bad as what some people have said either and are actually pretty decent, especially considering the films budget.Anyway, if this is as good as Slash can get when producing films, it's best that he doesn't leave his day job.

I am not usually someone to write anything but this time I had to warn you guys. This movie was a huge waste of time and I would like to help people save that time for better movies. The plot was very slow, lots of stupid things that did not make sense. Acting was horrible. I would not recommend that movie to people who watched all movies ever created and that one was the last in their collection before they passed away... Sorry for the harsh review but I just hated it. The trailer was great, the movie disappointed BIG time. I was hoping to get a seriously scary movie, I love the adrenaline. Nothing left to fear gave me zero fear. I am so glad I did not waste my money to see this in a cinema.
