Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.

I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.

You can always recognize a good movie by these elements : 1- good story with an interesting intrigue 2- great actors 3- a few young & promising new faces in moviesThis one has it all. The views are great, the ambiance is dark, the dialogs precise & intriguing, a lot of twists and turns, never really understand how it'll play out until the final chapter is upon you.In short, if you like police movies with some political twists & some great suspense and action, you're @ the right stop !!!Enjoy this one. Peace

I'm starting to like French action movies. This one reminded me a little bit in its feel of Kiss of the Dragon, minus the kung-fu.The colouring and mood of the film are dark and edgy, as are its characters. Jean Reno delivers a good time, as per usual.I will say that the plot twists to the point of nonsense, but it's still a good ride. The film also has a hint of an Islamophobic air, given the current geopolitical climate, but not to the point of being overt. In all, one of the best action films I've seen in a while, highly recommended within its genre.

This excellent thriller owes most of the credits to it's author (the book) Jean Christophe Grange and actor Jean Reno. You will find some similarities of the film with Crimson Rivers, which is also based on Grange's book and Jean Reno played the lead character Commissioner Pierre Niemans. Like Crimson Rivers, the movie begins with seemingly two different events and a pair of cops trying to unravel the mystery. Anna Heymes (Arly Jover), the wife of a respected government official Laurent (Philippe Bas) is having a rare amnesia and nightmarish hallucinations of horrible murders, while in the Turkish neighborhood of Paris, Police Captian Paul Nerteaux (Jocelyn Quivrin) is trying to solve the possible serial killings of the illegal Turkish women with the help of an ex-cop Jean-Louis Schiffer (Jean Reno), who is also an expert in Turkish underworld and organized crime. Eventually these two seemingly unrelated worlds begin to collide into a web of danger and dark mysteries. As usual, Grange's work made this movie a cerebral action thriller. Cherish it.

Although this movie is in French and dubbed in English, the most important thing required to enjoy this movie is using the English subtitles even though the speech is in English...the voice over seems to be competing with the background movie sound (rain, music) so it is difficult to make out the conversations without it.The movie is a bit difficult to follow during the first portion of the movie, but that alone is usually a positive for me as this isn't a movie whose plot is known 10 minutes into the movie. The movie takes place predominantly in France, so the scenery is pleasant. Due to the voice over, the dialog is sub par but the pace and mystery of the movie is very good and the story line isn't bad for a thriller type movie. The biggest disappointment for me was not having Jean Reno dub his own voice, but other than that, I did enjoy the movie.
