It was OK. I don't see why everyone loves it so much. It wasn't very smart or deep or well-directed.

if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.

This film was OK but at times it got a bit crap the movies about how a married couple can not have children of there own so they get a surrogate mother to have the child for them. The movie stars actors like Seiko Matsuda,Bridgette Wilson,Scott Cohen,Claudette Nevins and Peter Boyle from the funny TV show Everybody Loves Raymond. The acting is OK in this movie and the story line is good and there are some good violent scenes in this movie like when Peter Boyle got beaten to death and the end scene in the movie. This film is a must see for fans of the Thriller genre or anyone looking for a OK movie and over all this film was OK and my rating is 5 out of 10.

This movie is pretty much like any other thriller/drama...a pretty woman shows up and wreaks havoc on an unsuspecting family. However, this was a lot better than Poison Ivy or the Hand That Rocks the Cradle because the reason the main character (Bridgette Wilson) hates the family is rather compelling. It appears that the husband as a teenager was involved in a car accident that killed Bridgette's parents. After they were killed, she was forced to live with a family where her foster dad was a pervert and repeatedly raped the girl (When she was somewhere between 12 and 15) and impregnated her, then she miscarried. Her anger is directed not only at her foster dad (who she kills as a teen), but at the man she feels is responsible for placing her in that situation--the other driver. This twist is about the only good thing in this slow movie--instead of showing her wandering around acting psychotic, they should have done more with this.

This movie has a variation of the plot where a smiling stranger enters another couple's lives and wreaks havoc. Here it's a pretty young woman who is hired to be a surrogate mother for a childless couple. She says she's a pre-law student wanting to earn money for her education but soon it is shown that she's deceiving them and problems start to arise. Unfortunately this isn't a great telling of this story; the pace always seems to be off a beat or two throughout. What this movie does have going for it is a fine performance by Bridgette Wilson as the young woman. She gets all she can out of the role and definitely bears watching in the future. I would only recommend this film to someone who is a big fan of the thriller genre, as there are plenty better than this one, but a dedicated fan might get some enjoyment out of it. Peter Boyle, Steven Gilborn and Marne Patterson are among the others in the cast.

Ths movie is thrilling enough to keep you glued to your seat to its (predictable and disappointing) end. What makes it worth watching is a fine performance by Bridgette Wilson who has to lead an otherwise pretty mediocre cast. Peter Boyd and Seiko Matsuda at least manage to look desperate enough to give their characters some credibility. Direction and script are also not really inspired but provide the suspense necessary to keep you thrilled right to the end. Photography and music are above direct to video standard.
