There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.

It’s sentimental, ridiculously long and only occasionally funny

Mario Van Peebles makes his debut in Exterminator 2...the lackluster sequel to the "blockbuster" Exterminator. Okay, so it wasn't really a blockbuster, so what? You still had a vigilante Vietnam vet going around eliminating people that had no right existing. Lowering a godfather into a meat grinder. Knocking off a pedophile. How can this not be good? Unfortunately, none of the kills in Exterminator 2 are worth remembering. In fact, I think it's an insult. Mario plays "X", a character so silly, it's literally laughable. He doesn't even come off remotely as tough, appearing as a gang leader for an extremely violent group of people ( sorry, didn't want to use the word "gang" again.) All quotes aren't worth remembering. Script is awful. Violence seems toned down quite a bit, leans more towards being an action/ adventure rather then being a violent vigilante flick such as Exterminator. Make no mistake, the goods are on the original. If you want to see an early appearance from Peebles, go ahead and have a look, just don't expect to be wowed too much. And, I'm sorry, ummm...break dancers? Did a few cast members leave Electric Boogaloo to star in this? What did you expect, it was the 80's. And the ending? I'm still laughing 30 plus years later! I'd give Exterminator 2 three thumbs down, but I only have two hands.

(58%) Wow, the "pro" critic over at Juicy Cerebellum did a great job with "Every single one of these sucked". What all two of them? Jackass. Anyone familiar with 80's and 90's urban based beat-em-up video games (Streets of rage, Double dragon, Vendetta) will notice a connection with the representation of street gangs and a city in turmoil. This is a more fun, less gritty, action based affair with "Evil Peebles" facing the rough end of Ginty's flame thrower as he quite literary takes out the trash. Any fans of the original, or Cannon's brand of 80's R-rated action should check this out. And what a poster! They don't make'em like that any more.

like any sequel this one goes way over the top lets look at other examples "the Punisher"(2004) serious and well paced now lets look and the second punisher movie "Punisher: war zone" outrageous, insane, campy, more violent then the first, fast, and well etc (and yes i know they are both different plots but it was still very over the top) . and need i have to say with "Mad Max" and its over the top sequel "Road Warrior". Now exterminator 2 is no dark knight or some Oscar winning movie that people always seem to expect, it is a very entertaining movie. the exterminator is one of the most underrated anti- heroes ever created and its a shame to. this movie never came out on DVD and the only possible way to see it is on VHS. its is way different from the first exterminator its more upbeat, campy, and it has a video game feeling to it which gets help from its soundtrack which sounds something out of a genesis game. but that doesn't mean the movie isn't dark, it is high on violence and unlike the first one john eastwood aka the exterminator is more humanized. in the movie he is given a girlfriend and he runs into one of his other Nam buddies but when all seems well a gang comes along to destroy this little happy story and its up to him to stop them. and let me tell u this even thou the director never went to film school or did other movie work beside producing the first film he did a good enough job making this feature. now i'm not saying this movie is for everyone but i do say this if you like the first one then this one is a fair sequel, i don't think it should have a frickin 2.5 out of 10 this movie is great and i hope it gets release on DVD soon bc hell if slaughter high or even don't go in the woods get released on DVD then this one should too.

Exterminator 2 isn't that bad, it's a great low budget vigilante flick. It's got action, violence and more of the Flamethrower, in the first movie he only used it once and that was just to scare someone while in Exterminator 2 he uses the Flamethrower to kill. The film sees John Eastland still being a vigilante known as The Exterminator but he's also now got a girlfriend who dances at a club, meanwhile a gang is trying to take over the streets and the leader's name is X, John Eastland soon meets up with another old Vietnam war buddy. Soon after killing X's brother he wants revenge and after following him they cripple his girlfriend, John and his friend then go out to get revenge for this so after capturing one of the members they plan an attack by turning the garbage truck into a fully armed battle tank. John then must take on X and his gang before they take control of the streets in New York.Exterminator 2 is a great sequel to the 1980 classic The Exterminator. Check it out. 10/10
