When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.

This is a dark and sometimes deeply uncomfortable drama

I saw the real news footage at the time this all happened and i can tell you that this movie in my opinion is a waste of time. A complete senseless drama with over dramatized acting. One word about this movie that keeps coming to mind is STUPID. To sum up this version of the story as it is portrayed in this movie: think of Days of our lives on steroids, and that's it. That's what this is. What i still can not believe is that 100 LA cops and not a single one can or even thought of shooting at the head or legs till the very end. Even then our swat team hero who was late ("I'm 10 min out"-"There in 2 min"-"I'm on the scene") and went on about being a hero and how he came to be a hero and what it's like to be a hero didn't really do much to the last single bank robber who was down to his handgun because his AK-47 got jammed. Another word just come to mind: PATHETIC. I hate this movie.

This is definitely one of the worst movies I've ever seen. The acting was mediocre , the plot was terrible, it was extremely unrealistic mainly due to the fact that 2 guys (and i don't care if they were wearing body armor) were able to start an open shoot-out with a 100 cops and almost win. My favorite part was in the end when one of the SWAT guys was heavily armored except for the waist downwards he was wearing shorts and some sneakers. I've heard that they have to react extremely quickly but this is ridiculous. I laughed my ass of at that point. If it were meant to be a comedy I'd give the movie a 10 but sadly that is not the case.

This is one of the most awesome movies I have ever seen. I loved it. My only problem with it was that it was way too biased in the favor of the police, painting the criminals as stupid robots, which they weren't. The movie makers really should have given the robbers, who are in essence the real stars of the movie, more detailed personalities. Other than that, it was an awesome action flick. Although the interviews were a bit annoying, and I'd rather they'd at least been interviews with those actually present at the gunfight, instead of the actors. All in all, I'd recommend it to anyone, pro-cop or anti-cop. 44 Minutes is a great movie, and I feel that it's second only to the movie "Heat".

There are *SPOILERS* ahead for those who never have seen a typical robbery in a Hollywood movie. The first minutes of the movie kind of promises a fair view of robbers' and police's backgrounds. But soon we realize this movie is about LAPD and nothing else. We are never told who these are although the ending proves there are more background known than we get to see.We see an armed robbery taken place. Everything is fine, they get their money and no one is hurt. They are going to leave in their car but then they see police parked outside and they get pissed. Who wouldn't? So the shooting begins. We see absence of police command and good judgment, instead they all try to be martyrs. We see Fox news acting like ants to honey, and maybe it is because the American people are used to see live feed from such incidents that there are so many civilians just staying around the block ready to be shot down. It is said in the movie that LAPD is like a big family. In that light it is understandable so many watched out for their colleagues and no one took care of the civilians around they should *serve and protect*. Never corner a "bad guy" in a public area!No this is not a believable story because of all Christian/LAPD/good guy vs bad guy propaganda woven into it. I can't make out what ever the real story could have been like. It just leaves a sour aftertaste.
