A man wakes up deep inside a cave. Suffering amnesia, he has no recollection of how he came to be here or of what happened to the man whose body he finds beside him. Tailed by a mysterious creature, he must continue through this strange and fantastic world. Enclosed, Tolbiac has no other option to reach the surface than to use REZO ZERO, secret observing cells in this cemetery-like abandoned mine.

I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.

what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.

If U do not read wiki, U can watch it numerous times and still not get itI give this movie a 2 star because I know there are movies out there that cannot be explained even in wikiThe thing is, if U read the synopsis, it makes the reader/viewer mad that a movie w/ such a well thought out 'synopsis' is such a flop in executionThe amount of dark scenes and partial too quick to focus on stuff scenes is also kind of irritating, I guess this allows them to save on vivid special effects

excerpt, full review at my location.Opening to mixed reviews at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2008, Eden Log marks Franck Vestiel's directorial debut. Dealing with the classic argument between nature and machine through his gritty vision of a dystopic future; Vestiel is influenced by his previous work in intense French horror alongside directors such as Moreau and Palud. An engaging and disturbing film with a simple premise, dealt with in a complex way. Overall it is 97 minutes of tense exploration and discovery, both of the plot and of the character behind it.

The worse part of this film is how it was drawn out. The story could have been over with in less than thirty minutes. There are long scenes filled with silence and absolutely no action. The viewer will notice this problem after watching the first five minutes. It did not add to the film, instead it made it more boring. The same theme of using long scenes are continued throughout the film. Finally the viewer is rewarded for watching with a few lines of dialog. The story is very weak. Just accept that this was likely someone's dream put down on celluloid. I have to ask what ever happened to showing plots in films. It is visually a very depressing and dark film. The viewer is left with little to look at, little commentary and virtually no plot. This is an A, B, C movie. It does not explore the rest of the alphabet. It uses straight lines leading the viewer to the conclusion of it's mini-story. This film claims to be of the horror genre. I watched the film with a person who can't even sleep with the lights out. There was not the slightest twitch of fear in any of the scenes. How disappointing is that? I love sci-fi and there are so many good books waiting to be made into films. Why or how this one made it to completion is beyond me.

I found the first 3 to 5 minutes annoying. Snips of scene flashing on screen got boring. Someone went to school and thought flashing lights were really cool. A bit of an overkill. Darkness all through the film adds to the feeling that perhaps you don't want to know what is happening. The story unfolds in bits and pieces, as the main character stumbles through a maze of tunnels, caves or what ever. More flashy lights. For the most part I found the story interesting. Most of the backdrop, and sets are very compelling, especially toward the end. The grainy B/W photography, adds to the suspense, as does the hollow echoy sound. Loved the ending. I have just watched it once, but I will probably watch it again. Enjoy, good Sci-Fi.
