Welcome to Egypt, land of the Pharaohs. A place steeped in history and legend; Gods and spiritual guides; untold wealth – and the bone-cracking, blood-spilling guardians of its riches. Jack Wells has arrived in Egypt in search of the famous diamond known as The Codex Stone. His journey leads him to the tomb of the cursed King Neferu, cursed not by name but by nature. With his centuries-old slumber disturbed by timeless human greed, the King rises from the dead with a blood-lust that cannot be quenched and a raging fury that will shred flesh from bone, bringing terrible and tormented death to all who dare witness the Day of the Mummy.

As somebody who had not heard any of this before, it became a curious phenomenon to sit and watch a film and slowly have the realities begin to click into place.

For goodness sake, do yourself a favor and close your eyes for 80 minutes instead of watching this, you will be more entertained. After having sat through 80 minutes of the worst movie I have ever seen, I spent the next almost 4 hours with self torture techniques trying to remove any recollection of having watched it.I must admit it was only because Danny Glover was cast I watched it, but never has he acted so poorly. I have been a long time fan of his, but how he was directed to be so bad, I will now question any future movies he is in.The directing was pathetic. I thought this was his first, so willing to cut some slack, but nope, he has done this before. One thing for sure he will never see red carpet in his life. All in all this movie might have been made on a McDonalds meal budget, but directing could have made this acceptable.Johnny Tabor failed. He is now Johnny Ta-boring..........

Not sure why this film has undergone such bad reviews, it's obviously a cheesy horror film and the title says it all. The Siskel and Eberts of the world always seem to voice their poor opinions. On to the film, I have a feeling this film was shot on a very small budget, not sure how they squeezed in Danny Glover but something tells me that someone pulled some strings for that one. It's cheesy people, not gonna lie, but if you're looking for a few laughs like the young pimply kid you once were then I think its a good fit for you. People are too serious nowadays that they've lost their sense of humor, too busy on their phones and drinking their lattes and pretending to be important that they forget to be a kid again. I rather enjoyed the film, it was a bit slow at times and wish the Mummy had been in it longer, but it was better than a lot of the other films I've seen, considering the film is shot from a POV (not my favorite) the scenery is great feels like Egypt and has a little modern edge to it. In my humble, honest opinion it's worth a watch.

It's rare that I can't sit through a movie but I just could not bring myself to finish watching Day of the Mummy. The main problem, though not by any means the only one, is William McNamara who plays the main character. I can't recall seeing anything else he has done, though I probably have, so I am unsure if he is always this bad but in this film at least, he is absolutely terrible. I mean high-school play bad. Answering machine message bad. Amateur acting of the worst kind. This might have been excused if he had looked the part of a kick-ass adventurer, but he doesn't. The dude is neither handsome (I consulted an expert on this one, i.e. my wife) nor the least bit fit. A striking and muscular tough guy might get away with shoddy acting when he is portraying a bad-ass hero but an average bloke who can't act... are you kidding me? I could go on about the shoddy craftsmanship in almost every aspect of this film but I really can't be bothered. The poor acting alone is reason enough to back out of this one.The fact is that I wanted to like this movie. I had low expectations, I love mummy-flicks and I think that the POV thing was an interesting take on this kind of movie. Unfortunately this film is just bad. Not in a good way, not in a fun way and not in a way you can overlook. It's just plain bad.The film gets 2 instead of 1 out of 10 because it attempted a somewhat creative take on a classic sub-genre. But it only barely deserves it.

if it wasn't for Glover being in it i would never have watched it. even the mummy which you don't see till near the end just looks like a bloke quickly wrapped up pretty sure anyone could recreate this with a cheap camera. no idea why i watched it to the end, nothing really happens in the hole film. have no idea how much profit these low budget movies make, only assuming just enough to make there next.Danny Glover is the highest-paid actor in the world, pulling in an astonishing $96 million between November 2013 and November 2014, a nearly $60 million lead over his closest competition.maybe this film was a bigger hit then i realize???with the amount he was in this film im sure he spent the morning in the studio and then on to the next movie. making 22 movies in 2 years im sure that's a pretty busy scheduled. funny how some actors say yes to everything and some cherry pick the better ones, but then i guess hes doing something right.hoping the other 21 movies are better then day of the mummy
