There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

I haven't seen the first two Night of the Demons films. In fact, I had never even heard of the series when I saw this one. I watched it under the title Demon House so I didn't even know it was a sequel to anything. To be fair, when you take into account that this is the third instalment in a low budget horror franchise it isn't too bad really. Usually by part three horror franchise films have well and truly lost the plot but this one is okay. Its Halloween night and a van of teenagers pitch up at a convenience store where the unhinged member of the party ends up killing a man; they wind up hiding in an old haunted house with a history of violence. The main thing in this one's favour is that it's fast paced and full of incident. There's nothing new here, nor anything especially memorable but it gets the job done and successfully entertains. The haunted house is the home of a mysterious demon woman who instigates all the unfolding horrors. There's plenty of variety in this carnage and its good stupid fun. In among the gore is a fair smattering of nudity which frankly is never a bad thing really. Peroxide bombshell Tara Sloane was a particularly welcome presence in this area.In the end Demon House is undemanding but fun.

Few things are more depressing when it comes to movie sequels to see the series come to such a poor end. Another B-Horror series that comes to mind is Subspecies. The first four films of that series (including Vampire Journals) were all beautifully executed with substantial budgets, rich photography, and wonderful scenery. Then Subspecies IV came to "close" the series with a god-awful, hideous looking film with a severe lack of production values. Night of the Demons 3 is a nearly identical case.Night of the Demons 1 & 2 are classic B-horror films. The first film had all the ingredients of a perfect Halloween fright film. What part 2 lacked in tension and scares of the first, it made up for in wonderful photography, rich production, a larger scale story, and the classic fun feel of the first. Night of the Demons 3, sadly, fails in many ways.It might be correct to attribute the film's failings to the severe lack of budget. The values seem to be merely a fraction of the previous movies. The script and dialog are very reminiscent of parts 1 and 2; ridiculous and over the top insults peppered with childish vulgarity: check! Crazy camera angles and cheap nudity shots: check! Surreal/sexual WTF moments: CHECK! But, sadly, it all falls flat and lacks the charm present in the other films. It's apparent that Kevin Tenny authored this, the story has the same feel as the first film. This time, unlike part 2, there are some would-be creepy moments and tension. The end of the film has a real sense of closure, but the viewer will protest that such a poor film would be the final piece.I really did like the story to this one. It saddens me to think of what this movie could have been; given the right budget and production values. Sadly, it's a very, very pale shadow of what should have been a classic B-horror trilogy.

I don't know why everyone is giving this movie a bad review, its loaded with the same graphic violence and humor and sex as the other 2 have. I have seen it a couple times and I think its just as good as the first two, I only own number one though. I have to find the other two. The storyline is actually a bit more believable considering that this group wasn't just teens looking to party, they desperately needed somewhere to hide and angela's was the only place around and it was just a load of gory fun, sex, and humor after they entered the house so I don't know why no one else likes this but I like them all so those people need to back off.

I'm a fan of the first two Night of the Demons films, so I was keen to see the third instalment despite all the poor reviews I'd read. Does it live up to its bad reputation? Pretty much.Firstly, you don't cast twenty-somethings as teenagers! No! To whoever makes the next "Night of the Demons" movie (if there is going to be one), please cast real teenagers! I know the other two Demons movies are guilty of this too, but this was made in 1997.The script, when it isn't ripping off lines from "Full Metal Jacket", is average at best. Kevin Tenney's original script was surely no masterpiece, but it was apparently sharper, gorier and funnier than the finished product. Apparently the director decided not to film most of the best scenes. Oh well. The gore is seriously lacking, and what gore there is is badly executed. The special effects are a joke. Some good old-fashioned nudity can't save this film from being the worst of the three. Sure, the original "Night of the Demons" was never going to win an Oscar, but it was well-shot, had a good score, a decent script and some memorable scenes. If the right people were involved, I'm sure this could have been a good entry to the series. All in all, this film isn't as bad as people make it out to be. I have seen MUCH worse films than "Night of the Demons 3". It has some entertainment value to it, and fans of the series will see it anyway no matter what.
