This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

There is a lot of build-up for very little payoff, at least in movie terms. I figured this would go more the way of "Straw Dogs" but with the simple town folks being hunted by the posh boys, with the "good guy" posh boy coming to the rescue. But instead, there's the one incident, and it's all neatly taken care of by the proper authorities, wrist slapped, roll credits. And whoever said it was right -- they all do look alike.Granted, being based on a stage play, there are certain limitations there, but for a feature film, it feels as if the last "reel" is just missing. Surely these entitled "twits" would not simply accept just punishment, but would wreak further vengeance for one of their members being made to pay a price. The film also sets up the daughter/waitress as a target, but that's just another red herring.

Or is it? Well it is a big feast of some sorts. And the movie really dives into human nature and how low some will sink. It's also the group mentality and how some will feel superior to others. There are so many comments about the homo sapiens and how he will behave under certain circumstances, that it's tough to actually like any of the characters depicted.Even if you think they're fun at certain points, when the spiral starts spinning and everything gets out of control ... that's where most will lose patience. Maybe even with the movie, although it does a perfect job of showing us exactly that ... with all the consequences or not ... A tough movie to watch with just a little touch of graphic violence

While The Riot Club shows an exaggeration in its message, with its overly distinguished 'posh' accents, penguin suits and outrageous dialogue that may only happen in the cinema, it doesn't flinch in its uncomfortable portrayal of a divide between the elite and the rest. The film centers on a group of 10 pompous, snobby school boys at Oxford, who are enlisted in 'The Riot Club', an exclusive clique that only accepts those with dignified family connections, education and wealth. This conjures up some of the most loathsome characters and behavior, which progressively takes hold in the second half of the film. The views on middle class society shown through the eyes of these drug and alcohol fueled young adults prove to be an infuriating watch, as we see the deep set hatred and prejudice against those who don't live up to their childish standards. The acting is one of the highlights of the film, especially from Sam Claflin, who plays a newly initiated member of the club who shows no hesitance in voicing these perspectives and provoking his fellow 'chaps' to go to extremes to prove their status. The film shows both the extreme ramifications that arise from privileged kids with inflated egos, as well as the corrupt lack of justice due to nonexistent boundaries and excessive money that can buy innocence. Overall, The Riot Club indeed has it flaws, yet ultimately, it is an entertaining and eye-opening message that has effectively and refreshingly addressed a different type of discrimination that continues to exist within societies classes.

Disgusting, vile, and with no moral code. As a woman I found this a horrendous watch. The subject matter of RAPE can not be justified by any cinematic standards. This director needs to take a few classes with Quentin Tarantio, in order to understand how to get a message across without totally disturbing the audience. Sadistic and uncalled for, belongs in the bin which is exactly where I put it :)Do yourself a favour and don't even bother, and if you have a girlfriend...I suggest this isn't a couples watch unless you want her to be very upset. No more to say other than that the writer should be pure ashamed of themselves and also this should be graded 18!!!
