Ardennes Fury (2014)

It's no definitive masterpiece but it's damn close.

Excellent adaptation.

The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.

Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.

So a bunch of WWII re-enactors got together to make a movie - and couldn't have gotten it more wrong. Just having a uniform and a grizzled face does not make a combat veteran (in life or on screen!). Trying to throw military sounding words and clichés around does not make dialog either. Even the uniforms are a mish-mash congolmeration of pieces parts (even see brown duct tape on one soldiers suspenders) that would never happen with a unit (German or American). SS mixed with luftwaffe mixed with wehrmacht pieces and parts of uniforms. Ugh. Some good attempts at CGI though; however the Jackson M36 Tank Destroyer ( the central vehicle of the American squad) can't destroy a German Tiger with one shot, much less head on. The tactics the Americans and Germans are using in the battle scenes are miserable depictions. Looks like a bunch of boys scouts trying to play war. This is just bad.

I think most of the reviewers have hit the low points. I don't know if anyone has points out that the battle of the Ardennes was fought in December and January so everyone in this movie would have frozen to death. The M-48 Tank Destroyer was not technically a "tank". It's job was to blow up tanks. And speaking of blowing stuff up, the final sequence was totally unrealistic even forgiving the crude special effects. This film was shot near where I grew up in Alabama and it is pretty obvious. The deer-trot cabin/orphanage was a dead give away. It looks like a bunch of WWII buffs got together and said "hey, let's make a movie. how hard can it be?" I can't believe anyone actually financed it or distributed it. I thought this might be like the Saints and Sinners series but it is not nearly as well made. With a little rewriting they may have made a pretty good spoof of a war movie but, alas, they tried to play it serious.

Instead of going after the pirates, the Hollywood big guns should go after this kind of movies. It is a disgrace to Hollywood this kind of movies are allowed to be produced. They just see the other Fury which was made in proper way and try to copy in the hope of catching the unsuspected customers to buy a fake. Isn't this worse than pirating the original Fury ? There is no real plot and I don't even know what's in the mind of the producers when they signed up to finance this crap. Surely there must a better way of spending thousands of dollars on better thing other than this shameful halfway done movie. Do not watch this movie if you still have anything at all to do, even cleaning out your front yard is much better way to spend time. I have to give 1, because there is nothing lower.....

THIS MOVIE IS TERRIBLE I made an IMDb account to warn people of it. In the first few minuets I saw that there was a German T34 i wish I was joking and it still had Russian markings on it. If you are STILL WATCHING THIS MOVIE AFTER THIS you will notice that all the soldiers are a bit chunky for being in the army also they are very old for the army also. Like the tank commander is easily 50 which would be OK if he was a colonel but he is a Sargent. I stopped watching this move at this point because of how bad it was. The day before I watched this movie I watched Fury on demand and I said wouldn't it be funny if asylum made a movie called Anger or something like that. Apparently this is the mock buster of Fury which was an amazing movie and paided WAY MORE ATTENTION TO HISTORICAL DETAIL THAN THIS. Please for the sake of your sanity if you are a WWII nerd like me do not watch this movie and watch Fury instead.
