A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.

Given the title, no one should be surprised that this is a silly horror spoof, with the titular bulb-nosed creatures visiting Earth with the apparent intent of stocking up on provisions (i.e. us). The surprising similarities between the predatory aliens (and their colourful technology) and terrestrial circuses is breathlessly explained away as perhaps due to our having Van Daneken-esque racial memories of mankind's earlier encounters with the sinister space jesters. The rudimentary plot finds rutting teenagers investigating a mysterious light in the sky only to find a spaceship that looks like an immense circus tent containing bodies encased in cotton candy, their subsequent attempts to convince authorities of the threat, and the eventual invasion of the town by the horrendous harlequins. The film is strictly played for laughs and is pretty goofy at times but is generally imaginative, entertaining, and reasonably well made (considering topic and budget).

Killer Klowns from Outer Space was one of the first B movies I put on my watchlist, no joke. And yeah, enjoyable watch, fun premise, funny moments and jokes. The story is about a spaceship that crash lands in the town of Crescent Cove, containing killer alien clowns that begin to terrorize the small town, killing the inhabitants by turning them into mounds of cotton candy, and it's up to a small group of citizens to stop these killer clowns. And that's it. Fairly standard B movie with standard characters and some reality creative death scenes, one even including acid pies. I'd recommend it, even if it's a really silly film. The only negative I have probably shouldn't get to me; I'm reviewing a film about weird looking killer alien clowns who arrive in a carnival shaped spaceship, but it still gets to me. The main character Mike hangs around with these two other guys in the film, and in the end you think they're dead. Would have liked if they stayed dead, but no, they somehow survive TWO explosions, without a single scratch or broken bone. You're telling me these two get flung across a room by the UberKlown, are able to BOTH fit inside the ice cream van's freezer; survive the exploding ice cream van: then make their way out of the BURNING wreckage, make their way into the van the clowns had (which wasn't even on the spaceship!!!) and survive THAT with the van completely in tact, while everything else on the ship was blown to smithereens!? The cop character also survives but I could at least buy that a little. This really took the cake. Also there's this comical scene earlier on where one of the clowns tried to lure a kid out of this restaurant for some reason, and the mom arrives in time; not because there a clown outside with a hammer trying to lure her kid out, no no, it's because she hasn't finished her food. Is this parent stupid or just blind?Overall, enjoyable, and I would and will watch this movie again, even if it's for the laughs. One of the good old cheesy 80s B movies and I love that it exists.

I grew up in 90's and this is a 80's movie which I enjoyed. I heard about Killer Clowns From Outer Space from a co-worker who did grow up in the 80's he knows I like horror movies, so he suggested this one.I have to say it reminds me of the B movies they made back in the 30's 40's and 50's it had that kind of feel to it. And it's an alien invasion movie but instead with clowns. In a small town a comet like object crashes on the outskirts, a red neck goes to investigate first and he is taken, then a couple go and investigate it. They find a circus like tent filled with pink like objects, they discover that dead people are in these and they are being held by freaky looking clowns. All hell breaks loose when the clowns invade the town and take people as their prey, I love the weapons they use, cotton candy guns, popcorn that turns into freaky little monsters, and the pies, the pies are classic and hilarious. Sure some parts were freaky, but mostly this movie was funny and hilarious. I love the bad attitude cop Curtis Mooney, he is the funny star of the show I also love the two brothers, these characters made me laugh so much. It also was fun, you have chaos around town and you never knew what was happening next. You have your hilarious moments, your tense moments and your scary moments. The scene where one clown uses a dead Curtis Mooney as a puppet, that was freaky and creepy but very inventive to the story. Killer Clowns from Outer Space is fun, freaky, and funny movie that will make you scared and laugh at the same time, it would be a fun Halloween movie to watch with your girlfriend, wife, a group of friends because I am sure they would love it too. I give Killer Clowns from Outer Space a 10 for the pure hilarious part of it and the story.
