It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.

The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.

I've watched a lot of scifi/time travel movies, while this one is not the most scientific or plot-hole-free, it has a plot that's tight, clever, tense, funny enough to win any scifi or movie fans in general over. I would rank it among top 5% of all movies I've watched.BTW don't believe in the "Dr Who meetings Shaun of the Dead". I watched and liked "Shaun of the Dead" (Hot Fuzz too), but I'd rate those 7 stars and this one 9.

The only reason I started watching this film was because of Chris O'Dowd, whom I'd seen before in Bridesmaids and Moon Boy, which I loved: but since I'd never heard of it, I thought it probably wouldn't be very good. This little picture definitely invites Shaun of the Dead comparisons. It's a romantic comedy set mostly in a British pub with SF/horror/fantasy elements. After being introduced to our three main characters, O'Dowd's Ray has a "meet cute" when he's on his way back from the bar with another round for himself and his mates when Anna Faris introduces herself as a time traveler. Unlike most time travel films, this one tries very hard to adhere to it's own logic. I did find one plot hole that still nags me (if Pete went back in time so far that he was on primordial Earth before the time-traveling loo had even been built yet, then how'd he get back into the same time frame as his buddies?) This doesn't ruin the film, but the briefest of explanations could have sewn up this plot hole in just a few seconds. Even non geeks can find this film fun and entertaining. If you're in a Shaun of the Dead mood, but your viewing partner is as gore- averse as my wife, this is a great alternative.

I didn't know what to expect when watching this, I read the two sentences of info at the top of the IMDb page and thought 'meh, why not'.Turns out it's actually a great little film! A lot of people have described it as Shaun of the Dead meets Doctor Who, which I'd say is quite accurate, possibly with a little touch of Memento added (In a good way), but if you haven't seen it don't assume it to be exactly that. I found this film creative in a way that a lot of films lack, it's constantly going in a different direction, and skillfully giving you plenty to keep you guessing, but not enough to make it obvious as to what's going on. There are few films that actually draw me into the plot enough to actually make me want to guess how the film will end, which I think is part of what makes this film special. I doubt this film will ever go down in history as a work of notable artistic merit, because personally I wouldn't say it deserves that title, however if you want to watch a lighthearted film that's got a great plot, you'll love this. The kind of film you'd recommend your mates when it pops into your head down the pub, sort of like I'm recommending it to you now :)

Yes, ten! This will likely go down as one of my "classics". Great special effects? no. Geat acting? Well, it's not Hamlet, is it? Likable characters, interesting concept, funny ( in a "yes, I'm a bit of a nerd, but you are a judgmental asshole you ignorant bastard" kind of way)? YES! Look... You either like it or you don't. hold on a sec.... (Sip's wine....) It doesn't expect anything. It's clever but doesn't act like it is. I enjoyed it. Anyone fancy a pint and some crisps? (spoiler alert) In the future, everyone is American. Chris Dowd's character and Anna Faris' character have sex MANY times ( but thankfully it's not shown in the movie). I think you'll like it if you are smart and not conceited. We know who we are don't we? ( did that sound conceited? Oh well.). ;)
