A Good Marriage (2014)

Excellent but underrated film

if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.

By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.

Ratings can make or break a movie.How many times have we skipped a movie because of a bad review ? A Good Marriage is a very entertaining, watchable movie.Due to this review,I would of passed on this,but I watched the movie before I read the review.Lucky me.As I try to understand why this movie was given a thumbs down,I cannot come to any rhyme or reason why this movie was tossed in the outhouse.Maybe IMDB should review the reviewer.

After 25 years of a good marriage, what will Darcy Anderson (Joan Allen) do once she discovers her husband's sinister secret? This film is often listed as Stephen King's "A Good Marriage". Whether his name is a bonus or not is really up to the viewer, because at this point there have been just as many duds made off of his work as successes, so there is no real guarantee. That note aside, however, this is actually a fairly decent one.Unlike King's usual horror themes of childhood or the supernatural, this really touches on what could be a real situation: what if a wife finds out her husband is a killer? The right thing to do is turn him in, of course, but is it worth all the trouble that would follow for the family?

This movie is a nice movie. Id probably recommend it. It is not very actiony nor is it very suspenseful. This movie is a slow thriller so if you have to have loud screaming or blood everywhere with a lot of suspense at every corner this is not it. This film does not leave you guessing, things are just out in the open and you know right away almost who is doing the awful things and everything. Also one of the main characters just simply puts everything out on the open so.. A lot of the big scenes that are the most suspenseful for this film are sorta in the trailer too. The rest of the film is mostly just like "uh oh what's one of the main characters gonna do?!" And that's okay. So I guess I would say it is a different type of thrill movie since most are not like this. It is not psychological or super fast action filled so don't expect that. I think maybe if you're a more mature person who can sit through A movie like this then great maybe this will be a nice simple thriller for you to see as it was for me. It's not really like other Stephen king films but it's different so. Give it a try.

This was a good movie. It is not what you think...if you read the movie synopsis. It definitely is Stephen King-ish. If you like movies that are interesting and keep you full of "what's next",then you'll like this movie. Some people want so much out of a movie other than entertainment. And most of these reviews sound like these people want to be movie critics but didn't make it. Plan and simple...not a bad movie at all. It starts right from the beginning. Keeps you interested all the way to the end. I, personally, have not seen a movie like this. And I watch a lot of lifetime movies. I really would like to read this book! That's how interesting the movie was to us. Good weekend movie or date movie.
