The Ewok Adventure (1984)

Absolutely brilliant

It’s an especially fun movie from a director and cast who are clearly having a good time allowing themselves to let loose.

I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.

The movie really just wants to entertain people.

When it came out I was a kid and it was a good movie. It's true it doesn't have the high quality of the movies released in theaters, but it was made for TV and had a lower budget. But the story is great and a fun adventure. I still love it years later. I found it interesting to find that apparently Lucas made this for his daughter who loved the Ewoks. So that makes it a 'family' adventure for him too.

A Star Wars spin-off for children. Well, Star Wars is for children as well. All right I know, Star Wars is very much enjoyable for adults. This movie isn't.Everything is about the Ewoks here, those fuzzy little furballs from The Return of the Jedi. They are as cute as ever, even though the way their faces aren't moving is a bit creepy. On the positive side these Ewoks are the same ones we saw in The Return of the Jedi. They talk the same way they did there, by operating with such words as 'gunda' (good) or 'feech' (what seems to be an Ewokian cuss-word).Of course there are also humans in the movie, 2 children, who are lost and are looking for their parents in the vast forests of the moon of Endor. The storyline covers the journey of a little girl and her brother to the hideout of a giant, who apparently holds their parents hostage, with the local Ewoks helping the children throughout their quest. No more, no less.As I said, this movie is definitely for children. For adults it might be tedious to watch because of the lack of dialogues (everything is told by a narrator, for obvious reasons), and the overall silliness of the movie. And I mean tedious even to adults who are otherwise Star Wars fans/addicts. But for children it can be enjoyable. It's important to note that George Lucas wrote the story, so it's actually the creation of the father of the Star Wars universe and it's got a bit darker, grimmer sequel named The Battle for Endor.

From THX 1138 to A new hope, from American Graffiti to the Phantom Menace, I have seen them all. A new hope I like. A lot. Love it, in fact. Have done so for nearly 25 years now. To bits. What a gem! The rest of George's work is, in my humble opinion, a downhill slope, with this piece of deranged dribble reeking firmly at the bottom. I still can't figure out who were the least convincing actors, those kids on Ritalin or those midgets (sorry: little people) in rubber suits. Having to stomach them in ROTJ was bad enough, watching them an entire movie has severely impaired my will to live. Thank goodness for ffwd buttons. I ffwd'ed about 90% of this drivel, only stopping to admire Phil Tippet's handiwork and laugh in disbelief at the strings on the "giant spider thingeys". If I ever have kids and it turns out they find this badly acted, badly paced and insanely sentimental piece o'crap even remotely entertaining, I will have them put down for the sake of mankind.

People who comment this movie should wake up!! Just 5.1 ?? this was one of the best movies ever made. A wonderful fantasy movie....if you like star wars, i can make sure you that you will love The Ewok Adventure. Actually, im not a star wars fan, but this one is different. It's old i know but you should see it. 8/10
