When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.

Funny, strange, confrontational and subversive, this is one of the most interesting experiences you'll have at the cinema this year.

I loved Cube. Cube was a short and sweet film that said what it needed too, and left me thinking about it for weeks. Cube 2: Hyper Cube, is the opposite. If you liked Cube because of the Kafkaesque story, the characters, the math, the strategy, or all the material it left you to think about, you will be disappointed. There are too many characters. The original fleshed them all out, this one didn't. When characters die you feel nothing. There are maybe two characters that are actually well done and interesting. There is this huge reveal at the end, completely re-contextualizing the identity of one of the characters, but there was practically no build up and it leaves you completely uncaring. Also the acting is overall poor and underdone.Visually, it looked awful. The first Cube had really good gore, and some of the cgi stuff didn't age well, but Cube came out 5 years before Cube 2, and looks so much better. In Cube they have lights in each of the rooms to make them feel different, in Cube every room is white and it get's extremely dull.In the first cube the numbers and traps and boots and all this other stuff gave the characters some actual strategy to use. In this movie it's just "oh no its a poorly animated thing run away!!" and the characters just go through random doors to escape.I know I keep comparing this film to the first, that is because I need to emphasize: THIS MOVIE IS NOT LIKE THE FIRST ONE, AND ISNT GOOD ON ITS OWN. Really disappointing.

This movie begins with some awful, vague, confusing cross cutting, in a style I absolutely hate, luckily it pretty quickly moves on to inside the cube. That's what we wanna see, right? Yeah. So, a bunch of strangers wake up inside a strange cube, and, mystery, drama and horror(kind of) follows. It's not super entertaining, but there's some cool stuff here. The effects are not exactly top notch, for the most part they look like something you could pretty easily do with a normal computer and After effects today. Yeah, they are pretty bad. With less cheap special effects, a little more consistent writing, and tighter direction, this could have been pretty good though. Well, better. The way I see it, this movie removes some of the mystery with the original Cube, which is a little bit of a shame. Couple of continuity errors regarding shaving, that slightly annoyed me, haha, but I don't really care that much about that stuff, but I wanted to mention it anyway. So yeah, if you're a huge fan of the original cube you might like this, or you might hate it. The original is way, way, way, better. That one is pretty awesome, this is not.

I admit to being a huge fan of the CUBE trilogy. The first film is obviously the best, vicious and exciting in its simplicity, while the third, CUBE ZERO, is an interesting idea that takes the form of a prequel. CUBE 2: HYPERCUBE is a straightforward sequel to the first film, with significant changes that make a difference.Although a number of characters are once again trapped inside a cube, the emphasis this time around isn't on solving puzzles and avoiding traps. Instead the characters must figure out a way to escape from their prison and to avoid the impending death which follows them at all times. There's lots of tension and interplay between the various characters, as before, and I liked the acting from the unknown cast which carries the story along. There are some good twists here, especially with the climax that heads into the fourth dimension, although with a little blood and death for people who like that kind of thing. The special effects are very average on a low budget but as usual it's the ideas which make this film work. It's not on the level of CUBE but I do appreciate the fact that they did something different instead of just doing a slavish copy for a sequel.

After waking up, a group of people find themselves locked in what appears to be some kind of cubed maze with seemingly no way out. With no idea on why they are there, or how they got there, they must all work together to try and find a way out, but as strange things start to happen, they all start becoming more & more desperate.OK no beating about the bush here - Cube 2: Hypercube is the biggest load of dross and is arguably one of the worst movies you'll watch. The first film was interesting and had a very original idea and storyline and it's actually a film that, while seemingly complex to understand at times, you followed.Cube 2, however, is the complete opposite of Cube with no real story. The first film dealt with mathematical logic, but this one is a bit like the cubed version of Donnie Darko and deals with alternate realities and parallel universes. It's an interesting idea but unfortunately it's very poorly executed as it just leaves you wondering what is going on with it posing more questions and not delivering any answers. The whole movie just seems to get made up as it goes along as the story is just a mess and not one part logically follows on from the other. Some of the effects are pretty neat and well done, but that is really all that is good about this movie.Honestly, do not waste your time with this one.
