Absolutely the worst movie.

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.

When i watched it 15 years ago, i just loved it, great horror title. I watched it several times after also, as it happens on all horror titles, watching same movie may not be same effect each time but it is just enough to make audience on the edge of their chair at first time.. Wes Craven at his best, no wonder why it is so compelling... It is really hard to understand this low ranking of the title, perhaps its because many people cannot really connect anymore to their younger self to address the emotional level of this movie. You cant really enjoy this movie if only what you like is heck&slash zombie horrors or gross entertainment... This movie is simple fear and you are gonna get it right or you are not at all... don't watch it with biased comments, just watch it...You might just love it, not because of the comments here but because you really would do...9/10

I first bought this movie like 8 years ago.I was never an afraid or shy watcher when it comes to horror movies. Mostly most of them wasn't doing any effect on me due to very low credibilities and out-of-aim unnecessary special effects and story backgrounds of the movies that makes you "eehhh...ending up with saying "another bullshit". On the other hand "They" was just another movie for me on that time though which made me think "can have potential" however while i was watching this pure horror it was so unrelentingly keeps you on the edge of your seat, i wasn't aware that i could feel something like this since like so long time..What i can say for this movie is "freaking awesome"!!! And that's it! Frankly speaking, as a horror movie of course what audience expect differs from one another but one thing mostly does not change; we do not make horror movies as documentary, (2nd world) war films, long story short "fact movies" made upon some historical facts or science facts. (I said "mostly" because there are few such examplary movies of these categories.) Instead horror movies most of the time consist of incredible characters, monsters, zombies, and mostly they rely on such unbelievable situations which makes you laugh which leads us again "credibility". "They" gives you this credibility beautifully combining your childish fears with a background of nightmare/incubus legend among children with "unseen" characters, eventually makes you suspense, confuse and hesitate..The ability of the movie relating with your ownself while you are watching this movie is inexpressible combining it with darkness and unknownness fear.I want to note that this is above all in pshycological horror category which is "more simple means more expressive" which needs serious audience. If you are expecting a zombie bashing movie just to enjoy your tastes do not even start it. But if you feel ready to watch a real horror movie and let this movie gets you into your most deep childish fears...watch it.10/10 --Do not watch this movie as if its a classic Wes Craven movie, actually in my opinion let alone this is his best horror movie, its one of the best movies of all.--Do not watch this movie with any preopinions or getting any comments of it before like any other movie it will ruin it.--Do not watch this movie if you are unable to relate with your childish feelings/sides anymore.

This is one of the very few movies which make you shiver in fear, suspense and keeps you on the edge of your seat over large parts of the movie. The movie has some minor flaws, and some things are not 100% logical, but all in all it's very thrilling and outstanding compared to most other horror movies I've seen (and I've watched a lot).Small hint: don't show it your kids, they might freak out and have very bad dreams or afraid to go the toilet in the night. It can even mess with your grown-up mind if you are scary. Beware, you'll never know what hides behind a door or cupboard...In conclusion I highly recommend this horror flick and actually don't understand the mostly below mediocre ratings... This movie is way underrated and I wished there were more films like these.

This movie was very cool. I think that it is one of Wes Craven's better films. It wasn't cheesy like 'People Under the Stairs'. It was a solid horror picture. It was suspenseful and mysterious and gave me a few scares and thrills. The concept was cool and the scenery and ambiance were eerie and creepy. It was a B movie but the quality of the film and story and acting were that of an A movie. This is a sleeper movie because a lot of people have not heard of it. It has a low rating on this site because there seems to be a lot of sci-fi and horror movie snobs on this site that prefer artsy overly intellectual movies. This is a solid horror film. I liked a lot and I recommend it to you.
