A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)
Teenagers in a small town are dropping like flies, apparently in the grip of mass hysteria causing their suicides. A cop's daughter, Nancy Thompson, traces the cause to child molester Fred Krueger, who was burned alive by angry parents many years before. Krueger has now come back in the dreams of his killers' children, claiming their lives as his revenge. Nancy and her boyfriend, Glen, must devise a plan to lure the monster out of the realm of nightmares and into the real world...

Fantastic!
An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.
It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties. It's a feast for the eyes. But what really makes this dramedy work is the acting.
Thanks to Wes Craven's vision of the ultimate villain, he created one of the greatest horror films ever. Robert England portrayed antagonist Freddy Krueger so convincingly that this menacing character was bound to give us nightmares for years to come. In a time before CGI was so commonly used, the visual and special effects were incredible, perfectly conveying the nightmare world of the victims. The idea of a ruthless killer killing teenagers in their sleep is scary enough; now add blades for fingers, a constant foreboding atmosphere, scary music and suspense and a classic is born. Constantly nominated as one of the best horror films.
Pros: Great Story and SuspenseCons: Confusing Ending and Deleted Scene Taken Out Which Should Have Been Left In The Film - Nancy's Mother Tells Her That She Had An Older Sibling That Was Killed By Freddy
A Nightmare on Elm Street is a highly imaginative, very smart and thought-provoking slasher film that relies on suspense to engage you not on cheap jump scares .... well, except one or two. Also, the practical effects are very cool and still hold up today. It's just the ending that is so rushed, confusing, obtuse and overall unsatisfying. Putting this ending aside, this movie is one of the best horror movies ever!(8/10)
This is a really good flick. yeah sure they're some pointless sequel but this one stands the best like bigger than the remake. The characters are well develop. The acting convince me that Freddy could be real. This movie is actually worth watching like watch this before you watch the remake; (I haven't watch the remake for a long time) anyways good film recommend it.
