I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.

Never mind the naysayers, the character dynamics, the pacing and the direction are fantastic, not to mention story, dialogue and a whole bunch more. Ha ha ha! Who wrote this stuff?

I Have to admit I was suckered in by the trailer, it was exciting and action packed. I thought they were doing a Bad Boys style movie, boy was I wrong. This was like a long TV episode of an American crime show like NCIS, Hawaii Five-O, or CSI but not as intriguing or engaging. All the action is in the trailer. There's about 3 action scenes and all 3 are not that new or good, they're the type you'd see in standard TV shows. There's some poor computer game animation mixed into one action sequence(cus Kevin Hart's character loves to play computer games) which totally ruins the rhythm of that action sequence and ruins the enjoyment of it. The end action sequence looks like they couldn't be bothered, something you would have gotten in a straight-to- video 80s/90s action flick. It wasn't a good comedy either, there was about 3-4 little chuckles throughout from some of the audience including myself for some of the one liners. I read before i went in to watch this sequel that it was more of an actioner than comedy but for me it didn't deliver in either.I wasn't expecting anything new or groundbreaking storywise but at least give me something to keep me interested but its a film that came across as if they took scenes from loads of other similar films and just copy/pasted them together. It all just looked WAY too familiar and not in a good way.So overall i don't see any reason to recommend paying hard earned money to watch it at the cinema. I'd recommend waiting until it comes on TV,as it is like a TV episode anyway. Then at least you can switch over to another channel if your not feeling it.If you do want to go to the cinema to watch a comedy then i would definitely recommend DADDY'S HOME if it's still out, very very funny, you will defo leave with a smile on your face. But if your really in the mood for an action-comedy then i would recommend SPY,which was out in 2015 and is out on DVD now. Great action, very funny and very entertaining. Everyone i know that's seen it loved it.

Review: I wasn't a big fan of this movie, because I didn't find it that funny and the characters hadn't progressed from the first movie. Ice Cube (James) is still trying to prove that Kevin Hart (Ben), isn't a worthy cop and Ben is still getting up to mischief whilst trying to help James crack a case. The first movie was much better, because the concept was fresh and the jokes were funny but this movie wasn't written that well and Ben became annoying after a while. There are a couple of funny moments, like when Ben hit his head on a spinning fan but apart from that, I can count the amount of funny moments on one hand. The soundtrack throughout the movie was decent and you can tell that this movie had a bigger budget than the first one but I still thing that they could have done a better job with this sequel. With All that aside, it's still a watchable film, if you don't take it seriously, and the chemistry between Ben and James is OK. Average!Round-Up: After the success of the first movie, which made over $150million at the box office, this movie was bound to make a hefty profit but it seemed to "come and go" out of people's mind, when it was released. Now that I have watched the film, I can understand why it wasn't as popular as the first one, and I personally think that the director will have to come up with something special, to make the next instalment a hit. Anyway, this movie was directed by Tim Story, 46, who brought you Barbershop, the original Fantastic Four franchise, Taxi, Hurricane Season and the Think Like A Man franchise. He also directed the first Ride Along, so I wasn't surprises that he brought out a sequel so quickly. I did have high hopes for this film, mainly because I enjoyed the first one so much, so I was pretty disappointed with the result. Benjamin Bratt was also a terrible villain and I'm getting a bit fed up of Ken Jeong, because he always plays the same roles in his movies. With all that aside, I still like the banter between Cube & Hart so I will be watching the next one.Budget: $40million Worldwide Gross: $124.2millionI recommend this movie to people who are into their action/comedies starring Ice Cube, Kevin Hart, Tika Sumpter, Benjamin Bratt, Ken Jeong, Bruce McGill, Michael Rose, Tyrese Gibson and Olivia Munn. 4/10
