I don't understand what people that this was funny...........drug abuse? drunken sex? etc etc etc.......frankly speaking this movie was a time waste event. See black was in this i thinking " WOW it must be great" its was trashy sex movie that seem to include the buzz of trans gender theme.........crappy and a worthless watch movie. I believe that trans-gender is a wonderful thing, but Hollywood is now junking up the movies with this concept Robin Williams is yet another trashy version of this type of movie..totally lost in the making and thinking people are stupid enough to buy into anything with top actors and actress in them...........YUCK!

To say it plain and simple: I enjoyed this movie. I am shocked (not by the movie but) by all the negative comments. I thought that Jack Black was great in it -not that he isn't great in his other movies (Kings of Rock- grrreat!), but I think it is because there was a bigger depth to this character than most of his other movies), D-Train does not reach the greatness of Black's Orange County or Shallow Hal (both superb movies!), but it was a fresh and entertaining look at midlife crises and Highschool reunions. James Marsden stars as Black's equally great counterpart, i really liked him in this maybe morally a bit deviant but likable role - in the end his character is not a mean guy, but actually (and sadly) just pretty lost. Sure, the movie was not the obvious alumni meeting movie/what I expected, but this is a good thing. I was afraid it was gonna turn out as something about long-kept jealousy and some only rooster in the yard clinch, but fortunately it wasn't. It was a delicate, tender story about life choices, desire for friendships, attention and recognition, and coming to terms with your place in life. And done in a very entertaining, funny, original way. I did not see the turns and twists coming, but they did not shock but entertain and enjoy me. Come on, it also features the great Kathryn Hahn and cultish 80ies music - gotta love that! I only felt bad for the nice boss, Bill, but if I understood the ending right, this side story ended well, too. So give it a shot, be prepared for something different and enjoy!

Seeing names like Kathryn Hahn, Jack Black, Jeffrey Tambor and James Marsden makes you expect a lot of fun. And it's billed as a comedy/ drama. It's definitely not a comedy. There are funny moments, but they're comic relief at best. Having said that, if you reset your expectations and are in for good drama and performances, I would recommend this movie. All of the mentioned actors prove to be very capable of delivering believable performances in a drama. Black's performance reminded me of his role in 'Bernie'. I also expected that movie to be a laugh out loud experience. As this movie it turned out to be a more layered story. The topics aren't 'light': bisexuality, coming of age, posing as someone you're not, lying to your spouse, owning your mistakes. But I felt they were woven into a story that moves along nicely. Just set your expectations right, don't fall for the Jack Blackian moments in the beginning (just enjoy them as funny moments) and you'll see an interesting movie that will leave you satisfied.

Review: I wasn't a big fan of this movie because I didn't find it that amusing and the storyline was ridiculous. Dan Landsman (Jack Black), goes way too far to try and get Oliver Lawless (James Marsden), to the High School reunion and the crazy goings on in Los Angeles, just didn't make any sense. If the director set out to make a comedy, he failed miserably because there wasn't any witty moments that I found funny at all. James Marsden wasn't bad but Jack Black got on my nerves after a while because he was doing stupid things all the way through the film, which I found quite silly and boring in parts. I can totally understand why the movie failed miserably at the box office and I'm surprised that Black and Marsden took on the project after reading the terrible script. Anyway, I think you can tell that I wasn't impressed with this film and I definitely expected more from Black and Marsden. Disappointing!Round-Up: With Goosebumps being a box office hit and Kung Fu Panda 3 due to be released soon, Jack Black, 46, can firmly put this poor movie behind him. Its the first movie written and directed by Andrew Mogel and Jarrad Paul, which doesn't surprise me because they left out key elements, like a witty script, in this movie. Budget: £3million Worldwide Gross: $770,000 (Terrible!)I recommend this movie to people who are into their drama/comedies starring Jack Black, James Marsden, Jeffrey Tambor and Kathry Hahn. 2/10
