It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.

SyFy have certainly done worse movies, but that is no consolation seeing as to me Ice Spiders was awful. Stephen J. Cannell was the sole "enjoyable" spot of the movie, everything else stank like yesterday's garbage. It isn't a SyFy movie without fake special effects, haphazard editing and lazy direction, and Ice Spiders has all of those. And that's not all, those thinking that there will be clichéd characters, cheesy and aimless dialogue and a dull and predictable story, won't be disappointed. Likewise with the acting, especially from Patrick Muldoon.Overall, a poor movie that left me cold. I've seen worse, but that's not excusing Ice Spiders' awfulness. 2/10 Bethany Cox

As far as low-budget, Sy-Fy channel movies go, I thought this one was pretty fun. Some giant spiders get loose from a secret military research base located near a ski resort. The ski instructor, "Dash," was a former Olympic hopeful who had to give up his dreams after an injury. He is interested in Dr. Sommers, a pretty researcher that stops by the resort from time to time. As the movie begins, a team of young skiers checks in to the resort for two weeks of intense practice. There is almost no one left, as the resort is in its last weeks of the season. (B-movie fans may recognize Connie Young, who played Holly in Troll 2. Actually, they probably won't recognize her, they'll need her pointed out). Eventually, the spiders are running wild and killing skiers left and right. Will Dash be able to redeem himself by rising to the occasion and defeating the mutant threat? Spoiler: he does. The resort-goers band together and hold the spiders off until the military captures them. Dash orders the spiders to be killed, and several of them are, but one final specimen is taken away by the soldiers. Then everyone has a laugh like it was the end of an episode of Scooby-Doo, apparently already having forgotten the bloody mutilation that took place only moments ago.

OK, So while working on a really long, boring History Project, I decided either listen to music that I've heard over and over again, sit in silence, or, watch the next SciFi movie coming on. Being the SciFi nut I am, I went for the movie.I really didn't expect much, by reading the movie description, however, they could have went further, and done much better with this movie. The characters absolutely sucked, I must admit, which, I think had some effect over the story line, which, with better acting, would have been a lot better. But, for a movie that I just "listened too", it wasn't complete, utter, garbage, hence why I gave it a 3. With better acting, it might have gotten a 5. So, if you need something to help waste your already wasted time, or, if you are say, sick with the flu, go ahead, have a laugh; as, if you watch this movie, I guarantee you'll laugh at a few scenes, though mostly out of mere stupidity.

Sci-Fi really outdid themselves with Ice Spiders. First of all, there is a rational amount of ice, and then there are in fact spiders to boot. There's some nice cheesy gore scenes and one really hilarious scene where some idiot stumbles into the spider's horrible forest lair and finds a body in a cocoon. The best thing about this movie is the short bus filled with the rejects from the local high school's special education program. Oh, and while attempting to flee the horrible spiders, they flip and roll the bus into a ditch because one of the mouth breathers decides to floor it on a road that is covered with, you guessed it, ice. And also spiders, surprisingly enough.
