Seeds of Hunger - Ukraine 1933
Between 1931 and 1933, 4 million Ukrainians were to die of hunger. This famine was not preceded by any cataclysmic weather event, nor by a war. This was an ideological crime: decided by Stalin and approved by the Politburo, with the aim of punishing Ukrainian peasants who refused the collectivization of the countryside, cultivated a strong form of nationalism and showed resistance to communist ideology. Drawing on previously unpublished material, on many Soviet films and on a number of particular points of view, including that of Welsh journalist and whistleblower Gareth Jones, this film retraces the story of that famine.

The World Is Watching: Making the Hunger Games
A feature length, eight part documentary that covers everything from pre-production to adapting the source novel to casting to shooting to post and marketing. This is an amazing in-depth piece and it's notable how many women were involved in this production, from several Lionsgate executives to novelist Suzanne Collins herself. Jennifer Lawrence talks about her "hypocrisy" in not wanting to do a big budget blockbuster after having devoted herself to indies (despite X-Men, which she seems to discount somewhat). There's also a nice sequence on the strength and weight training the actors went through and the stunts that are so notable in the film, as well as having to dance around the violence implicit in the story due to the planned PG-13 rating the filmmakers were aiming for.

Hunger of the Dead
In year 20xx, the world was plagued with zombies.
Human race was on a verge of extinction and clock was ticking for those who were still alive.
When a young male protagonist, Toshiyuki (Ryouta MURAI) was running alone from a horde, he comes across a safe house. The place seemed like a paradise, with endless food supplies and other humans for a company. However, to Toshiyuki's horror, he soon realized that the real nature of the place was to breed humans so zombies won't starve to death!
Toshiyuki was paired up with a girl named Mitsue (Nagisa ODAJIMA). Although things are very awkward between them, Toshiyuki is aware that he is slowly falling in love with her.
Is this the last sanctuary or sugar-coated hell? As emotions and speculations entwine, the "Human Farm" is facing a bloody fate.
