Margot Robbie Joins in Birds of Prey

Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment announced they build a team of female superheroes, Birds of Prey. The movie will be shoot next year early and set on 7th Feb, 2020.

Cathy Yan will be the director of the film, Christina Hodson(Bumblebee) is the dramatist. Robbie is reprising her role as Quinn, which she first unveiled in 2016’s “Suicide Squad,” and is also on board to produce with Sue Kroll and Bryan Unkeless.

In this story, the team will fight Gotham crime without Batman. Jurnee Smolett-Bell will act as Black Canary and Mary Elizabeth Winstead will act as Huntress. Huntress, a prominent Gotham City heroine in the comics, has been through many incarnations through the history of the DC universe, but this particular version will be Helena Bertinelli, a "mafia princess" who seeks vengeance after her family is killed as part of a mob hit, ultimately becoming a vigilante. That sticks pretty closely to the current Rebirth incarnation of the character, which makes sense for DC in terms of synergy. Black Canary, aka Dinah Lance, is described as a "good-natured" character with skills as a "street fighter." Both are key members of various incarnations of the Birds of Prey comic book team.

Birds of Prey is set to be the next major DC movie, hitting theaters February 7, 2020.
