Centers on the Klein family, who live in a remote house in the mountains. Considered the black sheep, youngest son Jean is thrown out. Angry and threatening, he arrives at Nils and Ida's chalet for a hunting expedition. The next day, he learns how to kill. The following night, his mother's car is set on fire and he is blamed. He disappears into the mountains with a gun. On the third day, it pours down with rain and, in the evening, a storm brews. Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.

I really wanted to like this movie. I feel terribly cynical trashing it, and that's why I'm giving it a middling 5. Actually, I'm giving it a 5 because there were some superb performances.

A lot of perfectly good film show their cards early, establish a unique premise and let the audience explore a topic at a leisurely pace, without much in terms of surprise. this film is not one of those films.

True to its essence, the characters remain on the same line and manage to entertain the viewer, each highlighting their own distinctive qualities or touches.

A very worth seeing little french rural tragedy. I won't repeat the topic very well described above. But it's a shame that this film has not been better released in theatres. I even doubt it will be aired on a TV channel. I hope I am damned wrong. The characters are convincing; especially Carlo Brandt, who is usually under employed. This actor has a very big potential. He was terrific in LA SIRENE ROUGE or DEJA MORT. A character in the underground french movie industry. This story takes place in Vosges mountains, not far from German border. I thought of Pierre Pelot's novels, for those among you who could know him. But, as I told in the summary line, it's not a fast paced film. On the contrary. But not a boring one either. Worth watching.
