a film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.

It's easy to say that this marked the end of Cartoon Network's Golden Age, as new shows followed that are subject to more criticism. Do I see it that way? No. The era that ends for me is my childhood. This show helped mold my sense of humor, and I've seen all the episodes multiple times, I even remember seeing this when it aired and I was 14. It has everything other episodes of the show had: the slapstick, the gags, but most importantly, the heart. A real passion for animation and humor that bleeds through every frame. It even explores new places outside of Peach Creek, and furthers character's relationships, like Nazz and Kevin, and The Ed's friendship. Plus, it shows the Eds getting actual friends, and learning a lot about themselves in the process. A phenomenal end to a fantastic show.

This "Big Picture Show" is one of the best finales for anything....ever! The opening 20 minutes quite possibly is one of the best pieces of animation in Cartoon Network history with slow build up and huge payoff. That's not to say that the rest of the movie isn't good, it is, but the opening 20 minutes is just phenomenal. The actual animation itself, the tension, and the writing are just perfect. If it carried that for the entirety of the movie, I would easily give this 10 stars, maybe even 11. That being said, the movie itself is quite good for Ed Edd n Eddy and feels like a loving homage to fans of this cartoon and a passion project like the modern Samurai Jack reboot. For a comedy cartoon like this, I never expected it to get emotional and deep, nor did I expect it to get dark. And this is for a series which has a creepy theory that everybody is dead and in purgatory! The main trio are the stars in this story and every second they have on screen is just golden from the moment they are introduced to the encounter with Eddy's brother. The problem is that the movie spends a lot of time on the side characters. Of them, only Rolf, Johnny, Sarah, and Jimmy are actually interesting. The whole thing with Kevin and the whole bike subplot kinda comes out of nowhere and doesn't do anything exceptional and the Kanker sisters don't do that much despite having considerable screen time. Also some jokes don't really work, but they are pretty rare so it's not a major flaw. What really makes the "Big Picture Show" amazing is that it has so much love put into it. This easily could have been a cheap gimmik to make some easy money but the creators really went out of their way to make this as amazing as possible. The sound editing and cartoon violence are the best parts of the animation (it feels like Tom and Jerry violence and it's so beautiful.) As for sound editing, every sound effect is just great and it's so satisfying to hear constant animal sounds, it makes everything seem chaotic which perfectly goes well with the tone and atmosphere. Overall I'd give the opening a 10/10 and the rest a solid 8 out of 10. This is wonderfully made and easily the best TV special ever made, at least for Cartoon Network.

Really glad that the show ended on a high note. The happy ending all three Eds deserved indeed! As they are on the run from the other kids, for a failed scam that blew up their beloved Cul De Sac as everybody is messed up badly. In order to run away and find Eddy's brother, we see each kid have some kind of development.Jonny with his Melonhead persona, Nazz and Kevin developing into a would be relationship but Kevin loves his bike and Nazz deservedly slapped him for it. And dumps him it seems. But at least, Kevin redeems himself in the end. Sarah and Jimmy try to get away from the Kanker sisters who are trying to save the kids from beating up their "boyfriends" aka the Eds.Rolf abusive to his pet pig who gets away from him. As he did not have much to do really. Except complain and run into stuff. As the Eds bicker about the failed scam with Double D aka Edd nearly breaking up with Eddy, who admits finally proclaiming responsibility.Stop if you do not want to read the ending...HERE IS THE SPOILER! As they are on their journey to find his older brother, the three Eds bond a bit. As they find his older brother along with the other kids and Kankers "saving" them. We see his older brother unnamed but really he turns out to be an abusive bully. At the carnival in which his brother runs and possibly owns. He takes great pleasure on beating up and torturing Eddy and plays a game of "uncle" as the other kids do not see his brother for the "cool" big brother he is.It is up to Ed aka Lumpy for unhooking the door to his brother's trailer shaped like a teal whale to stop his brother's abuse as he falls to the floor and saves Eddy.Eddy tearfully apologizes as he was just a misunderstood character and just wanted to fit in and made up all of these lies and scams to be accepted. As the kids are looking to beat him up, they finally accept the Eds and accept their apology! As they throw Eddy up in the air! As the kids are accepting the Eds as friends, Johnny aka Melonhead comes to think he can "save the day" and tries to beat up on the Eds until the kids come to the Eds defense and beat up Johnny. After they do, Kevin invites the kids to come to his house for jawbreakers. As the Eds are excited to finally be having that happy ending as Double D breaks the fourth wall and says it only took "133 episodes, four TV specials, and a movie to do so!" As they sing the Friendship song that they had in an earlier episode, Johnny lies beaten up and the now ex pig of Rolf eats Johnny's melon, the Kankers decide to give the not so tough big brother "mouth to mouth" as they close up his trailer. Finally Ed fans will like this movie. Very touching but also shows that Eddy was just a person that was misunderstood and sad! End of the Cartoon Cartoon era for Cartoon Network! RIP 1990-2009!

The trademark humor of the Ed Edd and Eddy series is their incredibly elastic body parts, over-portrayal over-exaggerated simple ideas, and the ability to turn the most innocuous objects into sophisticated machines, and this film continues off of it. Basically the story revolves around the Eds trying to escape the wrath of the cul de sac kids after their latest scam unintentionally goes awry, leaving Kevin, Nazz, Rolfe, Johnny horribly mutilated. During this whole pursuit, each of the cul de sac kids run into humorous situations similar to the TV series and through these situations they really get a chance to learn about each other and the strength of their friendship. The film was well made; each character had a decent amount of development, there are happy and sad times for the Eds and the end of the movie is unlike anything you have ever seen in the TV series. This is highly recommended for all fans of Ed Edd Eddy.
