I don't have all the words right now but this film is a work of art.

It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.

Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.

**could contain spoilers I wish that Stacy Cochran had made more movies with Winona Ryder because she got the best out of a brilliant actor who had been unfairly beleaguered by yellow press innuendo, despite a great start in her early career.Boys is a beautiful movie that transcends the petty moralism that has since taken over the U.S. movie industry and, perhaps, the whole of U.S. society, since that simpler time when it was made.Watching it for the first time again, since 9/11, it's like taking a very pleasant backwards time trip to a previous more tolerant age, when the idea that love is all we need still mattered. That time seems almost forgotten, now, and it almost seems like rebellion to insist on remembering that finding love, in whatever circumstances, is the best thing of all.As a matter of fact, that is still true, and this fact is a very good reason to watch this movie again, and again, and again. Be subversive and watch this and other love-positive movies from pre-9/11. Love does not need political definition.Politicians should think about, as most people do, that making love possible is the primary goal of any proper human society. This movie does that because anyone who has only been in love for a week or even for many more years can't watch this without smiling in approval as the credits roll up to reveal the details of one of the best soundtracks ever in a '90s movie. It's a great little movie with two great leading actors with excellent on-screen chemistry for their roles, and great support, especially from the younger cast members. It ages well, and it's unfortunately too unique, because I really wish that there were more Stacy Cochran/Winona Ryder movies.

I don't care about people's bad critics for this movie. I've watched this movie over and over and never being bored, and still fell in love with the two main characters and of course the movie soundtrack are cool. This movie made Haas seems like a real man, so mean.. and Winona is the only girl who fit in with Lukas Haas. Perfect couple. This is really really one of the most great movie ever that Winona Ryder and Lukas Haas done. Can't stop doing daydream, imagine the romance will happen off screen between the actors. love it so much. Wanting to see them both back together in the future film, surely as couples again.I love every scenes that shows Ryder and Haas together, especially when they were in merry- go-round when Haas asked Ryder to marry him. Whether is true or false, their eyes on eyes scene were so electric. They enjoyed the fair one night and having a sweet moment scene. Though the ending of their relationship is mysterious, but I still can have a chance to think that the ending is happy.. People can imagine the ending would be as their runaway together hand in hand. Driving the school car with another kids from the boarding school. Tall Haas and petite Ryder was the best gesture overall.

I liked this movie a lot. Visually, it is just so appealing in a very mystical sort of way. I don't get why nobody gets this movie. While the story doesn't quite hold up as well as the photography and the ending is way eighties, if you are a poetic person, you will get into this. In a weird sort of way it has a bit of the Love Story appeal. There is just something about it that can't be explained. A lot of the appeal has to do with winona ryder, she has never looked more magnetic...trust me. She actually does a very good acting job with this, in fact she probably saves the movie with her appeal and acting skills. There are certain scenes in this flick that will just float you away...like the one where the two main characters make love in the woods behind the carnival...classic. The first fifteen minutes are very interesting also. To sum up a rambling review just let me say this is one for are searching for something poetic and different in a movie. This is one for the fans of beautiful, sensitive people, falling leaves, and cobblestone paths.

I finally had the opportunity to view Boys. Throughout the movie I kept wondering who these characters were and when the storyline would start. The movie lacked the development of both. Before I knew it the movie was over and the credits were running. Did I miss something? Was there a hidden message only for a teenage audience? I truly don't think so.
