This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.

This movie feels like it was made purely to piss off people who want good shows

I really wanted to like this film as a blind rental, but it fails at almost every turn to be the type of film it aspires to be.10-IH is obviously one of those small-scale genre films that indie startup companies use as their flagship productions that attract well-meaning B-list veterans who enjoy helping up-and-comers out and it shows. The characters are barely defined, hardly eccentric (one gag in the film is that "normal people need not apply" but none of the characters besides the punk griller are weird in any way), and the script traipses through the A, B, C, and D plots with an almost casual disregard for gravitas. Each character has a single (hardly crippling) problem to overcome and one sequence involves 3 of them going on a road trip despite the fact that they all seem to work every single day with no replacements. It reminds me in many ways of EMPIRE RECORDS: a formulaic retread of character-driven workplace comedies like CLERKS and WAITING... but with prepackaged stock characters, signature visual gags, and expository dialogue to serve as dramatic reveal; it wants to be poignant and make a statement, but with all the sophistication of a 6th-grader. The camera work is functional, the production design non-existent, and the plot devices textbook: you can practically see the numbers under the paint. Added to which, the soundtrack repeats the same 2 songs that were originally produced for the film because they had no budget for pre-existing music, and that grates. And the original score plays home the emotional beats sincerely to the point of sentimentality.10-INCH HERO is almost a parody of the kind of film it wants to be, and despite some nudity and profanity, is virtually PG in its tone. Take the nudity and language out and it would be the kind of film that Family Values production companies make when they try to ape mainstream movies.

I am not a fan of comedies, so I didn't expect much of this film. Gosh, was I proved wrong! Unlike many American comedies, this one is funny AND kind, and it makes you feel good and see the better in the world and people. This constellation of characters slowly grows on you and make you wish the film lasted longer so that you could enjoy their relationship and the atmosphere in the movie. Not that I don't appreciate Jensen Ackles in "Supernatural", but I was surprised by how good and versatile an actor he is. Anyway, acting is great, story is wonderful, nothing is amiss. I loved it and would definitely recommend anyone who likes romantic comedies, Jensen Ackles, or wants a great evening for oneself. And I will definitely go back and will re-watch it later. The music is a treat, too.

This is the best movie with the dumbest name. The acting is excellent, the characters are interesting and the writing is clever. I rate movies on entertainment quality. Sure, there could have been something more artful in the way it was filmed or the dialog patterns or perhaps even a more appealing soundtrack, but that's true for 99% of the movies out there and few of them serve to entertain on the level that this one does. You can't be jaded and bitter. You have to be open to liking the characters and laughing with them as the plot develops. If you're a stiff then this movie isn't for you, but if you have a soul and a sense of humor and compassion you won't regret a moment you give to this movie. I'm going to follow up on IMDb to see what else has come out from the people who made this because I think they have unique talent. I won't give up any of the plot devices or character nuances. If you're reading this and haven't seen the movie, download it on NetFlix instant and let yourself be entertained. It's completely worth the time you'll give to it.

Damn you Supernatural and Dark Angel. You made me love Jensen Ackles, currently playing Dean Winchester on CW's Supernatural. I started to look into what other films you might be in. Just to see your type-casted lovable character. The total misunderstood sweetheart and loyal, bad boy. So you ended up playing the same character in Ten Inch Hero. I was happy even though you had a punk rock out cast look. What I hated was the movie. I wasn't expecting too much but the cast made it semi-promising and enjoyable.I was expecting something along the lines of Sex and Death 101. BUT NO! That could not happen. Even though I like Clea DuVall 's work in HBO's Carnivale, the movie Identity, among many other things…. and the guy from Boondocks Saint is in this film. Sean Patrick Flanery if you wonders what he's been in.. well this is one of them.(*huge side note, I watched Boondock Saints II All Saints Day, and it sucked. William Dafoe was only in one scene and it is an exact replica of the first.. Also Sean Patrick Flanery got all bloaty in the face and he looked like Edward Norton, in my humble opinion. Which isn't too awful of a comment.)Overall this film was trying to bring many stories together, with the common hold of all the people work at a sandwich shop. It had purpose in the beginning, but then it fell apart with it's focus on facts rather than good cinema.I felt no connection with the characters, although I could imagine how someone might feel in their situation, but it was just too hokey dory for my taste. Although it had its moments in a little bit of funny parts, you can just tell how great I feel about a movie when all I comment on are the actors and what distracted me from the screen.I do admit this movie does cater to others. But, at times I felt it was worth watching just to see Jensen Ackles in a Mohawk and in a kilt and buying tampons.
