It's funny watching the elements come together in this complicated scam. On one hand, the set-up isn't quite as complex as it seems, but there's an easy sense of fun in every exchange.

Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.

A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.

I saw this without any idea what it was about or what to expect. I only chose to watch it when I noticed that it was Andy Serkis's directorial debut, and I'm very glad I did.Serkis, who has continued to impress with his power, passion, and versatility as an actor, proves that his vast talents are not limited to his work in front of the camera. In this movie, he brings all the intelligence and truth that he has mastered as an actor and channels it into the finely-tuned and delicately balanced performances of his cast, who he directs with great sensitivity and attention to detail. But as a director he also exhibits great vision and a keen sense of storytelling, which results in a film that is richly cinematic, yet intimate and tender. As a first-time director, Serkis has wisely surrounded himself with an impressive cast of reliable performers, each of whom brings their A game. And additionally he has assembled a talented crew who ably bring his vision of this true story to life with stunning cinematography, magnificent art direction, and period wardrobe that is authentic but not distracting. The elegant orchestral score stays mostly in the background, subtly aiding the storytelling without making a nuisance of itself or leaving any earworms behind. My only minor gripe is that the editing was a little choppy in a few of the earlier scenes - but I'm really nit-picking now. Overall, though not a complete masterpiece, it is a film of a very high standard that achieves all of its creative and narrative goals. Though emotionally raw in places, it manages to stay on the right side of the melodramatic line, and leaves the viewer feeling uplifted rather than devastated. All in all, it is a fascinating true story, masterfully told.

Films like this should be celebrated for years. I didn't even knew the real story before i watched this movie. It was so wonderfully portrayed by the two main characters. The locations were wonderful. Shows the beauty of life and how to appreciate life and family even in the worst of situations. There are still many underprivileged people that face daily problems like this. the message is simply to try living for themselves and for the people that care for them.

I thought when I finished was that I would have liked to see this movie with a dramatic whole and not with the nice movie tone it has. The dramatic part would have been deeper and the biographical part more interesting. What I thought while I saw it is that money gives happiness and if it does not, at least, it helps a lot to get it.It's a beautiful movie, that gives you joy when you see it. It is not a film of self-improvement, because he does not surpass anything, but if it is a film about how to find a joie de vivre and when you really know it is all over and there is nothing else you can do if not really be a nuisance and annoy too much to those around you, then go.It is a maudlin movie, if clear by the beautiful tone it has, that is seen from the minute one and in the amount of scenes with applause that has, but if it is true that it manages to transmit and arrive.I really like the actors. Nothing else to start, I thought that the casting I did not like, because neither she is the beautiful woman that is sold at the beginning, nor the young man who would drive that woman crazy, but if you see them as a normal couple, if they fit you already long movie are very good. The photograph he has, except in the moments when he puts too much light through the windows, is quite good. It is happy, beautiful and accompanies. Then when it has to be cold, it becomes dark, which is another way of doing it and that's fine. The director, because neither much nor little. Take the movie The pity is that I take the option of making it pretty instead of dramatic. There are no plans that help tell the story, it is simply correct. But he takes it wherever he wants and lets himself be seen.Get you out of the movie with joy and that's not little

A good movie based on a real life polio victim. Could have been called A REAL LOVE STORY. All the elements are there for a tear jerker and is well made and acted by the two leads. Seemed a bit rushed at the start as there was no real build up of the love between the two main characters. So much happens much too soon. Wondering why the writers didn't go into detail about how the couple survived financially or did Robin have any family. No mention is made of a mother or father. Surly they would have been at the house helping one way or the other unless he was an only child and the parents were deceased. Should have been more clear on his family. Diana's mother is only shown for a second or two. Did she help? Andrew Garfield did seem to age some, but Claire Foy looked about the same throughout the time element of 1958-1981. Minor quibbles, but more detail on how they survived and his family would have made the film a little more realistic.
