The only law I know is "Jack Murphy's law." It's very simple. Don't *fuck* with Jack Murphy. You remember that. Now that is a great dialog mouthed by Bronson's hard drinking disillusioned cop. But some of the abuses that comes out of Kathaleen Wilhoite's mouth made me wonder whether Gail Morgan Hickman, the film's writer was drunk when he (or is it a she?) wrote this film.Murphy's Law is a pretty simple film. A disillusioned cop has to team up with a foul mouthed female thief, when he is falsely accused of murdering his nude dancer wife and her pimp.It makes no pretensions of being high art. It is a sleazy 80s action thriller. It never rises above a certain level. But films like this were the mainstream in the 80s. Before the superheroes and special effects took over.I wont really recommend it. But it is not a bad film. It sucks but also has a few amusing bits. I don't think I would watch it ever again.

Charles Bronson is still the tough cop only this time very flawed. Which already can be seen in the first scene. His car gets stolen. Now he is able to chase the thief down and catch her,but somehow he gets tricked and assaulted in his precious family jewels. His initial reaction to his car being stolen is nowhere near the silent but deadly types he played before. The female thief (Kathleen Wilhoite) provides further comic relief with using the most creative insults you will ever hear in a movie. It is one of the best things in Murphy's law. And if this wasn't enough we also have a female villain who is beyond ruthless. Accompanied by some decent action and it is safe to say we have a winner on our hands. In my opinion far too underrated movie.

"Murphy's Law" is predictable Bronson 80's fare rendered unwatchable by the character of "Arabella McGee," a Tourettes-stricken six year-old in the body of an adult woman. Bronson spends most of the movie metaphorically handcuffed to McGee, his "mismatched" buddy who speaks only in grade school trash talk.Among her more pathetic insults are "dinosaur dork," "sperm bank," "booger-sucking pimple vomit," "camel-crotch," and "bug-sucking barf-brains." Any producer/writer/director who thought this sort of vulgar stupidity would be funny probably didn't make many movies after this one. It's the type of loud, offensive stunt that ruins the movie and reveals just how clueless the filmmakers are. What's the point of continuing the review? The plot, a simple revenge story, is derailed by Kathleen Wilhoite's unrelenting foulmouth, a constant reminder of the ignorance and indifference that went into this mindless Golan-Globus flop. I'm out.GRADE: FPS- If you're ever subjected to this trash be sure to stay tuned for the laughably-awful theme song during the end credits... it's the cherry on this s#it-sundae :)

When I first read the synopsis to this film I thought I'd get to see an older, more experienced Vigellante type of character that old Charlie has used his audience with.Actually this film is not even close to the Death Wish series, not even with the last two, which were quite mediocre, if not bad. In some ways Murphy's Law reminds me of Stallone's Cobra: over the top attitude, cheesy dialogs and colorful language, the whole B+ action film recipe.Don't be discouraged though, give Murphy a chance and watch the film, it can be fun. I did just that, at least for Bronson's sake, if not for the production it's self, we all know that Le Monstre Sacre's filmography is actually cinema history. I give it a 5/10, it is a watchable action flick, especially on those nights when you just have nothing else better to do.
