Who was the actual villain in the film 'Ek Villain'? Villain meaning - a character whose evil actions or motives are important to the plot.If you have seen the film, you may say -Ritesh Deshmukh .... but your answer is wrong! The actual villain in the cinema is 'WIFE'! to be precise – Ritesh's wife in the film.Wife is the actual evil culprit ...in not just this film but I guess worldwide (the reason why probably males spend more time at the bar, consume alcohol and write insulting jokes on wives...and with the advent of Internet & social networks..even share the dirty wife jokes worldwide!!) In the film Ritesh's wife was a nagging woman who never left a slightest opportunity to show her husband down. She used to constantly belittle him and thought of him as some incompetent fool capable of doing nothing worthwhile! This constant insult and nagging turns Ritesh into a maniac, a criminal! Since he could not harm his own wife – fear of society, neighbours plus an indication is given that he loved her after all but never got any respect or even love from her in return – so he used to take out his frustration on any female he happened to interact with and who showed even a wee bit of attitude to him – like raising her voice, complaining attitude, screaming / shouting – like anyone that reminded him of his wife – he killed her!!So basically Ritesh turns into a villain not because he was originally a villain – he was rather shown to be pretty sensitive and peace loving in fact. For example there is a scene where couple of eunuchs surround them when they were going by an auto-rickshaw and asked them for money – Ritesh gives away almost all his money so as to avoid unnecessary ruckus in the middle of the road (shows peace loving nature). He then gets down and says that he does not have money to pay to the auto-driver (since the eunuchs had taken them all) so asked his wife to get down as well – along with their child (shows his honesty). To this his wife screams back and says that she has the money and she will go by auto – and he can go walking to the movie hall....she used to belittle him often because of his salary and the fact that they were always in dearth of money! So you see folks, being a wife as well as a mother, the female had hardly got any sense of love, warmth or feelings for her own husband! So in the film...the actual villain stays alive...only the man who was driven to the extent that he turned into a criminal died! Injustice. Ideally we should 'Nip the devil in the bud' – hate the crime, not the criminal...the reason Ritesh committed crimes was because of his wife...wife was the main criminal – the Ek Villain!

This movie was recommended to me by a friend who was trying to 'convert' me and get me to like Bollywood movies. Now I am not saying I dislike all Bollywood movies but I do need certain things when watching a movie: Good acting, a strong ORIGINAL plot and a decent storyline. Ek Villain has none of these. The lead actress is so irritating from the second she shows up on the screen that you actually enjoy the scene when she is murdered and wouldn't mind watching it again & again. SHE CANNOT ACT! The lead actor seems promising....for the first 3 minutes. However you quickly realise how terrible he is when he cannot change his expression at all. In terms of acting, the only award should go to the serial killer's wife - she played the nagging wife role really well and the viewer was able to see how she has emasculated her husband. The storyline is so appalling, not just because it is a blatant rip- off of Korean thriller "I Saw the Devil" but because it is such a poor imitation. As viewers we are already expected to believe that the hero can beat up 100 men in one go and is somewhat immortal, but for me I really lost interest when we see the actress cured of cancer without a single session of chemo. Who is this amazing and miraculous doctor and why is she not out there curing cancer for everyone everywhere and sharing her miracle??? And I also didn't know that Indians have the ability to go deep-sea diving without oxygen tanks! Apparently there are some gill-like tendencies that are inherited by Indians that I really wish I had. Perhaps we are all living in the wrong place and need to move to India where they have cancer curing doctors and magical underwater, unlimited oxygen supplies?To sum up; terrible movie, atrocious acting, hilarious goofs but really nice songs. Go buy the CD and save yourself 3 hours!

This is very good movie. Very emotional. Cinematography is very good. One thing I didn't liked the villain :p . Such a stupid villain. This charter should be given to a better actor. Yes "Ritesh Deshmukh". NOT suitable for this role. Here other tough actor would more suit.The reason of this serial killer is also lame. The story Line should have changed in this reasoning. The serial killer reasoning should be justified more deeply. Some ideas should have taken from the "Dark knight" Other than this movie is fantastic. Very romantic.Hope to see more films like this

I am truly astounded at the folk who are giving this movie a bad review. Seriously speechless. This movie is one of the best Bollywood movies I've seen, and it hasn't provoked such a reaction since I watched Awarapan.The non linear story was executed sublimely. The tragedy in the movie was executed to utter perfection; the songs kick in at the best possible time drawing tears (parallels with K3G can definitely be made). And the songs...Oh dear God, they are just another level.Just like Emraan Hashmi impressed me in Awarapan, I'm now Siddharth's newest fan. His portrayal was a good effort. By no means is he the finished article, but he did a damn great job of playing a kind of tortured soul. Love it.The only drawback was the villain. I think they needed a stronger presence.I enjoyed this movie so much I actually got up off my ass and wrote my first ever review.Songs. Drama. Action. Tear-jerking moments. Symbolism. Philosophy. This film is an example of when Bollywood gets it right. So what if its a remake of I saw the Devil? It's made alterations to suit the Bollywood genre.Mohit Suri smashed this one to pieces. Defoz a must watch. And with Bollywood producing nothing but rubbish, a most welcome surprise.Watch this peeps!!
