Miss Meadows (2014)

Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!

This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.

It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

This is not the film everybody was expecting. But not bad to try after coming to know it. It is a black comedy, about a young single woman, a substitute elementary school teacher who moved to a new neighbourhood. She has no limit for her imaginations. Her world was full of wondrous, but there's a little dark secret too. Later, when she comes to face a big hurdle, how she's going to handle her new boyfriend who is a cop and from there where it heads was revealed.It was a Katie Holmes' show. It was a short film, but she was always there, the camera always with her. I'm seeing her film after a long time. She looks a bit old for this role, but worked well. The supporting cast was okay though. That little girl from 'Girl Meets World, Ava, was good. The film looks okay for all ages, but slightly violent with killing and other crime exposing scenes. Especially it is not for young kids, despite the film theme looks a bit magical. So it should be PG13.A decent writing and direction. The whole film was shot within two and half weeks. Because the story was simple, that takes place in the limited enclosures. So the experience of watching it was like a television film, but it is not. You might have seen some of the similar films, but still it is worth a watch. Not deliberately going for it, though when you ran out of the options.6/10

What a movie. I watched it without knowing what to expect; the only propaganda I got from it was the cover, I didn't even read or check for synopsis or trailer. A creepy joy ride with lots of not knowing what to expect perhaps not intensely but still. if I had to choose as film only I'd return to this one before bad teacher any day. For me there was no sense of build up to tragedy, just more along the lines of anticipation for revealed layers as the story went.Not a big fan of crime movies even though I like a lot of them. This one brought an element to it that makes it stand alone, my title of review aside. Did not expect Katie Holmes to do a good job like this.

I am not a fan of Katie Holmes as an actress. She has yet to be casted in a role that she can "pull off" until now. This role must have been written for her because I honestly can't think of another actress that could have pulled it off. She plays the perfect, proper psychopath. it was amazing how this film worked, it had the perfect blend of dark humor, sweetness, cute kids, crazy wardrobe and witty writing. It was almost a British comedy with the dark humor. I really liked it.The film was well casted, the writing was good, the wardrobe was awesomely hilarious, and I do believe it could probably have a sequel if done in the same manner. Pop some popcorn and give if a watch, you won't be disappointed. toodle loo.

Not being a professional movie critic, I'm allowed to enjoy a movie just for its entertainment value. Miss Meadows didn't disappoint me as I was totally surprised with the direction this movie took. I fell in love with Miss Meadow's vintage attire, her impeccable manners, and poetic prose, but kept getting these uneasy feelings that she had something weird going on. Everyone loves her, and she handles herself so well and seems so fearless in scary situations that I wondered if she was an undercover secret agent or something. The movie reminded me a bit of "Matilda," but took a decidedly strange turn, much to my delight. I really enjoyed this movie, and without having any preconceived notions about it, I was really pleased!
