The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;

Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.

A magnificently well directed, written, and acted film. Though the story is nothing out of the ordinary, the way it explores and brings together the way many people live is amazing. From someone being homeless by choice, a separated marriage expert, to an alcoholic Beverly Hills wife, the film manages to depict their flaws as part of life.I have also just noticed, that the main protagonists in this film are female. While that is great, the fact that these women's lives are so linked with those of their male counterparts cancels out this potentially progressive film.Ellen Page has done a remarkable job in this film. While I admit that I have not seen her in many movies, I did not expect to see her in this kind of role. She pulls off the tomboy, doesn't-give-a-crap attitude with such precision that it is hard to remember she is acting. Janney also does well in her supporting role to Page. While a bit awkward at times, the chemistry between her and Page slowly develops as the characters bond.While there are many characters in this film, the story is carried predominantly by Tallulah. The story of her life as she lives carelessly moment by moment is disrupted by this one pivotal event. Heder does an incredible job at writing the story so that audiences can relate to the characters. These are characters that we might not take a second look at if we passed them by on the streets. Or might make a snap judgement about, and carry on with our lives. But, this film shows that there is more to a person than their appearance.Overall, a real gem of a movie that promises to engage you in its dialogue.

This movie was a heartfelt wonderfully acted intelligent well thought out movie. It kept my attention from start to finish. Ellen Page was fabulous as the homeless girl her acting was stellar. Juno would be the other film that I thought she did a wonderful acting job in.Very enjoyable movie, not sure why some people thought it didn't have a soul. You would have to be cold as a stone to not feel the emotion and see the beauty of this story. Didn't expect much of because I not a big fan of Ellen Page, but this was a very powerful performance along side co star Allison Janney who was equally powerful in her performance. This is a must see film

I just randomly picked up to see this film. One of the reasons - not a very good one, but hey - is that the name of the film is like one of Tori Amos' songs. The song is great and so is this movie. I must say that the beginning of it was not really promising ( up until she came to the hotel and actually entered the room of a woman) and I was wondering if I chose the right film ( which means interesting one which is not boring and it is entertaining). Luckily it was great.What I liked the most is a simple story ( somewhat) great characters ( all three women and a 'missing son')and really good relationships insights.I must say that I do not know any of the actors from any other films or series. They were all new to me and I think they all did a great job ( except that younger gay guy - who was not really convincing).What is missing in the film is maybe a better soundtrack or let's say a few more songs. All in all, quite a good one. Nine from me.

I loved this movie. The story is gripping, the characters interesting with authentic intensity. Slowly and with a fine tuning people are brought together who ultimately all have the same issue: Lack of Love. The story shows what happens to us when Love is missing, what crazy behavior can result from this and how desperately insecure we are wondering around in this world then. The emotions like disappointment, resentment, hurt and anger are very well displayed without disturbing the viewer too much. Also the small parts, like the scenes between Margo and the doorman, are precious. It shows that Love is in every corner of this world, we don't have to go to big lengths to find Love. It is everywhere. Just our wounds and hurt from the past blinds us to see it. Wonderful acting, heartwarming and at times also a funny. Really worth seeing.
