All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

not a critic but id like to say that 2 songs from house md made it to this movie, i loved it, dark jokes made me laugh the whole movie long. i know i should hate something but i don't. it s not the best movie of all time and i don't know why, but i cant find anything bad about it. it s funny actors i hate did well in it, and i like the story.

I like a good dark comedy, in fact 'VERY BAD THINGS (1998)' and 'HEATHERS (1988)' are some of my favorite movies.Other dark comedy favorites include 'THE BIG WHITE (2005)', 'JUST BURIED (2007)' and 'THE LAST SUPPER (1995)', heck I even enjoyed Patrick Wilson's previous dark comedy 'LET'S KILL WARD'S WIFE (2014)'.But THIS 'HOME SWEET HELL (2015)' simply isn't very good... In fact it's pretty poor.Starts out reasonable enough but once things start getting 'dark' it simply lacks bite and just pile on with clichés.There's really not a whole lot more to say about it, I guess it's cool that Katherine Heigl plays a different role than usual but she really got nothing on Cameron Diaz when it comes to playing the crazy wife role.Nice to see A.J. Buckley in a movie though, too bad it wasn't a particularly good one.I like Patrick Wilson but he can't save this, and Don Champagne has got to be one of the worst character-names in recent years.

Ms. Heigl must be pretty desperate to accept a movie with such a poor script. The subject has been used and reused in so many movies and even in so many secondary stories of any police/detective TV series. A normal guy who is seduced by a sexy employee and then gets blackmailed by her and her friends. The rest is just terrible, crazy blood thirsty Ms. Heigl chopping Ms. Brewster in small pieces and storing her in a fridge and then more crazy Ms. Heigl's husband blowing her to pieces in the middle of his son's birthday party. Seriously there is nothing funny in this movie and the dark bits are just gross and poorly made. Worst part of the movie is the chopping of Ms. Brewster by Ms. Heigl. Obviously Ms. Brewster wouldn't agreed to be in the chopping table and she was replaced by a mannequin with barely a resemblance of her features. Use those two hours to sleep instead of wasting your time watching this.

Katherine Heigl takes her knifes again, but this time not for curing a patient - like she did in Grey's anatomy few years ago - but for a totally different reason. This movie is a black comedy with a little bit of a drama, soft (very soft) porn and crime. To be honest I didn't like none of the characters that's why I didn't care about how they end up. Overall Home Sweet Hell is the perfect choice for Katherine's Heigl fans, because her performance as a psycho wife is perfect. As for the deeper meanings of this movie (superficial happiness, infidelity, childhood trauma, repressed desires, etc.) don't expect to find any answer.
