The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.

Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.

Difficult one this. The acting is good and some of the dialogue too, but the direction is a bit flat and surely the script was not fully thought out. It is fine to leave an audience in the dark as long as we believe the writer knows what's going on but I think this cheats. I see that most people love the first three quarters and are confused/upset by the last section. I actually enjoyed the supernatural/sacrificial part but up until then had found it very difficult to get involved. I didn't like anybody, okay the kid was alright, but his parents seemed like the neighbours from hell with their loud swearing and fighting, their bonfires and garden jacuzzi. Never mind the most embarrassing dinner party since Abigail's. I was getting pretty angry despite the good performances, maybe because of them and then the violence began. A bit heavy and completely inappropriate for hired hit men, the excuse being that the baddies had done such terrible things. Hit men moralising or just finding excuses to air their psychotic tendencies. Not discussed. Not dealt with. Hey, lets just change the film into something else and nobody will notice. Perhaps.

The Plot. Nearly a year after a botched job, a hit-man takes a new assignment with the promise of a big payoff for three killings. What starts off as an easy task soon unravels, sending the killer into the heart of darkness. This has got to be one of the most boring long drawn out pieces of garbage I have ever seen. The movie has no real direction and just rambles on and on and on.The acting is fine, but it's a real snooze fest.Let's play a game. I am a third into the movie right now....let's see if it gets better in real time. So far it sucks.Half way point and I am bored out of my mind.Three Quarters in and no changeOVER. It's shite.

'Kill List' is an excellent film in nearly every regard. The plot line follows ageing ex-military servicemen, PTSD afflicted, stone-cold Jay (Neil Maskell) and the laid-back, religiously-leaning Gal (Michael Smiley), who have since turned to the lucrative hit business as a source of big money. Their bloody three-hit contract tests their moral fiber, are these just more faceless heads to hunt for a fixed sum; will their moral flexibility come back to terrorise them? The Priest, concerns church corruption, reference to Vatican clergy child rape. - The Librarian, concerns child pornography and recorded obscenities. - The Client, concerns political corruption. The viewer is never allowed to take sides. We are held as spectators to the films' huge emphasis on morality. The bigger picture is, of course, that moral flexibility and taking justice into our own hands makes us easy to control, a parallel to the military of today gunning down faceless men that are branded, often wrongly, as villains. The push and pull between the characters is engrossing to watch. We are treated with an astounding cast, top class screenplay, and smooth, silky acting. This is all brought nicely together with witty, meaningful dialogue that adds huge scope and genuineness to every interaction and plot- point, nothing is spared here. 9.5/10

I was a bit late in finding out about this film, however, I was stunned by the quality of filmmaking on display here. This literally has it all: family drama, dry humor, sense of dread, outlandish violence, darkness, brightness, and much more. What I liked most about this film was the underlying themes at work. This film never hesitates to ask the big questions, nor does it hesitate in showing the brutality that exists in the world. While certain bits may be hard to swallow, there is much to appreciate and enjoy here. Yes, this film is violent. Yes, this film blends genres in a way I have not encountered before. Yes, the dialogue is difficult until your ear adjusts. None of this detracts from the outcome or validity of the final piece though (in my opinion at least). It seems as though the final act is the make or break for most reviewers, and while I may be in the minority, I absolutely love the direction this film takes. The sense of dread is always present, building as the film progresses. The ending brings it all together in an unpredictable, yet very satisfying way. My two suggestions: don't let previous reviews sway you, and watch it with subtitles the first time. The camera-work is exceptional, the atmosphere perfect, and the characters are unforgettable. Astoundingly good film.
