I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.

There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.

There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.

I'm going to be honest, this is the not the movie I thought I had selected. I confess I wanted to watch the big blockbuster Aaron Eckhart I Frankenstein (2014)and it was only about 20 minutes in of the eccentric scientists treating their 'monster' like a baby I decided to check what I had selected. There is no gentle way around it, Frankenstein is violent! It's quiet almost tranquil moments are shattered by outburst of mutilation and gruesome beatings. The narrative creates a disturbance within your opinions of the monster; you sympathise with him being in a new world alone and scared without the mental capacity to comprehend his existence, but then you fear him and despise the pain he inflicts on others (even when they deserve it). The writers playing on the age old theory that the scariest monsters are those that closely resemble humans. The acting is beyond good, the story an interesting take on the Mary Shelley classic but there was something that didn't sit right with me watching this film. Maybe it was because I was expecting an over-budget under-story movie with Frankenstein Vs Gargoyles, or the psychological battle the lead character creates for the viewer. Either way if you can stomach the violence then worth a watch, but would not be the top of my list.

Frankenstein is a 2015 updated adaptation of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. Just want to say l was very impressed with this contemporary version of Frankenstein . Only a few parts were unbelievable like the police shooting him after his arrest but totally understand why the director added it. I really thought 'oh god! This will be crap' but totally on the contrary.... Loved it!!! Directors like this should be snapped up by Hollywood! I will be looking out for more... It may be low budget but it's high quality viewing.... Well done!. Hollywood needs fresh blood. And If you need a comparison I'd say it's like a Cronenburg with passion kind of horror flick l will be definitely recommending this to my friends..... If you've watched Victor Frankenstein don't be put off, this is way superior & l shouldn't be saying that as a friend of mine starred in it!!!!!

This Updating of the Legend of Mary Shelly's Frankenstein is an Inspired Film made for Today's Audience and References the State of Modern Technology, and the Fact that Human Behavior, despite Advancements, is Virtually Unchanged since Victorian Times. It's a Timeless Tale, You See, and this Homage is True to the Novel's Themes and Literally, with Voice Over from the "Monster", Recites Passages Directly from the Book.A Good Cast also Highlights this Horrifying and Disturbing Story that will Pull at the Heartstrings while at the Same Time, Manages to be a Hard Watch. There is so much Brutality and Abuse the Unfortunate Creation must Endure, it becomes a Mirror to Our Own Plight as a Species and to say that it "Hits Home" is an Understatement. The Sharp Screenplay Pulls Few Punches in Making the Point that a "Fooling with Mother Nature" is a Not Always a Good Thing. The Newborn must Cope with the "Slings and Arrows" that are Thrown at Him from His Very First Breath and while Not Born a "Monster", He Certainly is Becoming One (more physically than behaviorally) because of the Flaws in Biogenesis and the "Inhuman" Demeaning He Encounters.Overall, Despite the Familiarity with the Story and its Countless Retellings, this is a Fresh Look that is Not Shy to Show the Rotting and the Decomposing that is Life at its Most Primordial. Horror Modernists will Most Likely be On Board with this Intelligent and Thoughtful Reconsideration. It is Recommended not only for Fans Newborn to the Story, but Anyone who Likes Classic Literature and Classic Cinema.Well Done.
