Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.

It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

My dad gave me this movie years ago when I was a teenager and I decided to pull it back out and rewatch it. Although I do agree that the concepts presented in this movie are much more complex then depicted, this certainly does give you a very basic understanding of the Law of Attraction in layman's terms. For a better understanding on quantum physics and the Law of Attraction I prefer "What the bleep do we know?" as it goes into much more detail. I don't care for the continued focus on acquiring material and monetary gain as mentioned frequently throughout the movie. However, I believe this is just used for example to understand the concept.Ultimately, I believe that the concept that one is responsible for his or her own destiny is the hardest thing for most individuals to accept. This is evident through the large number of negative reviews. This requires a thought process that transcends the ego which is the real challenge to achieve. Our ego lends itself towards negativity and negative thinking which is readily apparent in this forum. Victimizing oneself, comparing ones circumstances to another, recalling previous tragedy/focusing on past circumstances, name-calling, envy, etc are just some of the presented arguments. The thought that individuals who are happy and successful in life obtained that by ideal life circumstances, instead of hard work and dedication is one example. The thought that happy, successful individuals have never experienced any hardships or tragedies in life is another. Once we are able to transcend those thoughts we are able to free ourselves from barriers we placed on our own minds.

At the beginning of this movie, one person says that we know, "like, attracts like." One person mentions magnets as a paradigm. The other man says it's a law of attraction. But we all know that with magnets, we are given the universal belief that it's opposites that attract. So, right away, I was a skeptic. And whenever I see pyramids in a film like this, I'm even more skeptical.You'll have to watch this to see if it "attracts" you.

Anyone heard of this old saying? "Your thoughts become your words, Your words become your actions, Your actions become your habits, Your habits form your character, Your character determines your destiny."Positive thoughts "usually" yield positive outcomes. Greece composer Yanni once quoted during his concert at the Acropolis: "… everything great that has ever happened to humanity since the beginning, has begun as a single thought in someone's mind and if anyone of us is capable of such a great thought then all of us have the same capacity, capability, because we are all the same". It's essentially the same basic concept as The Secret.The first time I watched The Secret was in 2007. Our daughter was only 2 years old at the time, the year when my wife had stage-4 lymphoma and was going thru chemotherapy and I was on the verge of losing my job (and health insurance) due to outsourcing. Talk about stress and emotional ups and downs!!! We got the DVD from another couple whom at the time was also going thru cancer treatment. Throughout 2007, my wife probably watched that DVD once a week and I watched it about 5-6 times. We didn't expect miracles to happen overnight. But during tough moments, the messages in this DVD actually brought some hope. Little by little, we tried to follow and think and talk positively and dream about how good our future will be. By late 2007, my wife finished all her treatments and gone into remission; and I finally landed a stable government job.By late 2008, my wife has gotten healthier and grew all her hair back; and I even got a city award from my new job exactly one year after employment. It's been 8 years now. My wife is still healthy and I got promoted 3 times on my job since then.I feel blessed. Some say its luck of the draw and I won't say the good things in our lives came easy. We had to work for everything we attained. The Secret taught us how (and why) to have a more positive attitude, helped us gone thru tough times, learn to be more grateful and humble when we achieved successes, and in return, the Universe will give us even more. You have to experience The Secret to believe in it.

I only got through about 20 minutes of it laughing my @ss off. Then I got board and came here to look up the actors. It had all the great characters of a typical mockumentary. However, when I came here I was horrified to find out this was not intended as a joke. Wow.....because I was about 95% positive this was a spin off from an SNL skit. Any-who, at this point after reading some amusing reviews, I would like to say: for all of you who gave it 10 stars, the next time your in the desert, I have a great pile of sand to sell to you. Look me up! (This is me trying to type ten lines. Gibberish. Why is there a ten line minimum. Seriously, how could anyone find ten lines to write about this? 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14)
