Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable

I've been waiting a few years before watching this movie, because I wasn't sure I would like it. When they showed it on TV recently I picked it up and decided to give it a shot. I didn't find it entirely bad, but it's not a great movie either. Special effects aren't super good but because this is a rather low budget British sci-fi movie, I don't mind that. What I really enjoyed though and is worth mentioning, is the soundtrack! There are some scenes that are better due to the music!

I'll give it a 10 out of pity lol... It's actually quite watchable, and good fun. Don't expect any major thrills or engaging plot twists, just decent, fun, light-hearted ugly-nasty-alien-goes-around-killing-people- out-of-boredom type stuff. The worst part of the movie by far IMO (watch out, here comes the spoiler!) is the scene where they find a dead bloke chewed in half by the alien, with his guts strewn all over the floor, and in an attempt at a cheap scare typical of the genre (but doesn't quite make it), the guy turns out to be still alive! I can only handle so much stupidity in a movie, and that was the one moment in the film that really crossed that line for me! lol Anyway, decent watchable silliness.

Uninspired but Not Awful Ultra-Low-Budget British Monster Movie. It is Mildly Entertaining but Lacks Anything New. The Monster is a Respectable Reptilian Alien Clone with Razor Claws for the Obligatory Slasher/Gore Scenes and a Face/Jaw that Defies Description, Suffice to Say it is a Mish Mash of Polywash. The Acting is Acceptable and the Writing Less So. The Film Seems Tired, or Worn Out, or Maybe it Knows that it is Retreading Retreads and its going to Fall Apart at Any Minute. But it does Manage to Hold Together for a Twist Ending, but Not Before there are Some Genre Scenes that are Expected but Not Exceptional.Overall for Horror Completest and Die-Hard B-Movie Fans. Others can Skip It without Guilt because its Greatest Flaw is that it doesn't seem to be Affectionate for its Own Creative Efforts. The Filmmakers are Found to be just going through the motions.

So, I watched this movie on Netflix after reading an news report that it made like $42 in the theaters and wonder why. I can now say I understand why. I would have thought it would do good since it has an actor from Doctor Who and an actor from Once Upon a Time but really, the story line was a bit old. Spoiler alert at this point. The whole idea of people trapped in a building with a creature trying to kill them has been over done. I did like some of the ways people did die but the tension between actors was so forced that I could not help but laugh. I hate to say this, but there should not be a sequel to this movie even if the movie made it out to be. I do give credit, the monster was a unique and I think the most interesting character in the whole movie. 3 out of 10 was being nice, but I have seen worse.
