This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.

Watched the movie with 3 mores guys. Nobody agreed about the score. Nobody agreed about the main roles background and postures. No technical discussions about cinematography, music, lights, acting. We agreed about this as a heavy film. Difficult to digest. I'd like to see more about the main characters background and motives. But that is clearly not the purpose of the movie.

3/30/18. Surprisingly good, but with some reservations. If you don't like interrogations, tortures and other strong-armed methods to elicit information, and if terrorism upsets you, then this is not one to watch. Sheen is a terrorist who plants 3 nuclear bombs and Jackson and Moss are tasked to find out where these bombs can be found so they can be defused. Jackson sums up the plot succinctly, "I shake him up, you shake him down." This movie shows how different techniques are used to get someone to talk. If there is one thing this movie will do is to get you to talk about what went on in the movie, and that makes this worth seeing even though some scenes are extremely harsh and distasteful.

The film portrays the US military as incompetent fools and the FBI agent questioning whether torture is really necessary to reveal where a terrorist has hidden 3 nuclear bombs in US cities. Frankly if this scenario ever came to pass, any sane President would give an order to get the information whatever it takes. I would have all the US military as portrayed in the film relieved of their commands at once and have Jackson's H go to work on the terrorist with a blowtorch and hot needles. With 20 million lives at stake I cannot imagine what moral dilemma this poses and I could easily do it myself and burn the kids limbs off in order to get the information. As for the female FBI agent with morality issues, what the hell is she doing there anyway, apart from telling us torture doesn't work. Actually it does, just ask Liam Neeson in Taken.

This movie is the worst movie I have seen since long ago, and I like to watch here and then some bad movies. Unfortunately this is the bottom of stupidity. It is almost fun to watch but to know that this story is meant to be serious is really frightening. It is really hard to find something that is not totally stupid or meaningless in this movie. The screenplay is really bad, decisions are totally stupid and the talks... you will guess. So finally there is just one interpretation possibility left: "it is some kind of fictive situation". But there are still the rules of logic and this movie seems to be stronger than theses. So what is left at the end? Some mix of the Motel movies, some American pride with Hollywood flair.
