The adrenaline rush never stops. The razor-sharp humor and nonstop action are back...and then some. As usual, Chev has to race against time or risk dying, but it isn't because of the poison we saw last time; it's because the villains took his heart and replaced it with an artificial one that has a less-than-reliable battery pack. The trademark "Mission Impossible" type formula is back with a vengeance: fight some villains, consult the doctor, spend time with girlfriend...in no particular order.Once again, there is the usual motley crew of characters who are alongside Chev: gangsters, exotic dancers, adult film stars, the works. The action scenes are definitely ones for the books. Take what you saw in the first "Crank" and then amp it up by, say, twenty. The subtitle is absolutely perfect because that's the pace for which the movie goes: high voltage. Let's face it: the man has nine lives and can't be put down so easily...but don't tell the villains that.Like the one before it, this is another feel-good movie that will boost your spirits if you had a bad day and you feel like hitting something.

There are films that should be taken seriously, and there are those that should not. This is in the latter category. If you don't expect much more that fast-paced action, impossible outcomes, lots of skin, crazy and hilarious scenes and gratuitous violence, then you won't be disappointed in High Voltage.Mr. Statham turns in his usual and brilliant performance. Ms. Smart does the same. This is a guy's night out flick. Get some beer, get some pizza, sit down and prepare to laugh. The cast and crew obviously had a lot of fun putting this thing together. I sure had fun watching it and was laughing so hard at times that I had to wipe tears from my eyes.

Chev Chelios is in an unknown location, sedated, while various Chinese are harvesting his organs. His heart is gone, in an ice chest; a temporary battery powered one in its place. Chev escapes, calls Doc Miles, who tells him there's only an hour's life in the artificial heart, and to keep it charged. Chev needs to find his own heart and get to the Doc for a transplant. He starts his time-limited pursuit of shadowy figures, and his heart........If a film was ever an acquired taste, then this must be the definition. This film makes the first movie look as serious as The 400 Blows. It's as if Neveldine and Taylor went on a huge bender and in their deepest darkest hour, they came up with this, experiment. To sum the film up would be extremely difficult, but if you were to imagine, Manga, Looney Tunes, and a little eighties Jackie Chan, you can only just scrape the edge on the bizarreness of what you will see.But the film works, because you cannot do anything but just go with it. Like a roller coaster, its painful to begin with, but then you get the rush, and just go with it.Statham is brilliant, and the rest of the characters are pure bonkers. You'll either think this film is great, or you'll hate it.

I don't know what drug this murder was on. Crank 2 is so ridiculous, it becomes more so as the movie progresses, where by the end, you're so mind numbed by what you're witnessed, you're totally dumbfound, it makes the original look respectively good. Out of interest, it has me wanting to re watch the original. If only this sequel had to surface, and rob the first of it's dignity. It takes on moments later from where the first one finished, which Stratham (who I must admit can't act) taking that big fall is spared, in one of the most desperate and idiotic excuses for a sequel I've ever seen. Why couldn't we just let him fall and die, which would of been the writers prior intention. But later sequel temptation must of got the best of him. Stratham's old heart is replaced with an artificial heart, where he must keep cranking it, anyway he can, through battery voltage, or strenuous public sex with his hot girlfriend Eve. The violence is totally off the wall, some of it sheerly sick, one scene involving nipple slashing. One reason to see it, is due to it's late star, 80's heart throb, Haim, as a bouncer, looking much worse for ware. But given that, it's a great insane flick, real cheesy, with action aplus, but too is just so ludicrous which does walk a style in ludicrous respect. I mean that head, minus everything else, kept alive in that battery acid tank, while being attached to electrodes, was like the last straw. But look at this movie as just a time passing, 'leave your brain at the door flick'.
