The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.

The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;

A vengeful spirit has taken the form of the Tooth Fairy to exact vengeance on the town that lynched her 150 years earlier. Her only opposition is the only child, now grown up, who has survived her before.Despite overwhelmingly bad reviews, "Darkness Falls" debuted at number one its opening weekend. Grossing $32,551,396 domestically and $47,488,536 worldwide, "Darkness Falls" was considered a commercial success at the U.S. box office, recouping its $11 million budget. Further proof that audiences do not care what the critics say.The film is neither bad nor good, but a film that just exists. The time of its release was just about when the mass production of low budget horror began. Today this would never go to theaters and may not even go direct to video. But by beating the glut, this one snuck through before it would have been necessary to have a bigger name attached.

After years away from his home-town, a man's return to deal with a friends' similar condition causes them all to fall victim to a deadly creature's curse that affects the town and forces them to try and stop it.Overall this one was quite underrated and pretty enjoyable for what it was. What actually works well for this one is the rather enjoyable atmosphere here that effectively makes this a lot creepier than it really should e. starting with the opening history back-story of the events that happened in town and the lingering curse over the town sets up a really chilling atmosphere that makes this one a lot creepier than it really should be as the resulting attack in the bathroom as a kid or the big encounter in the forest following the brawl in the bar which are not only great, exciting action scenes but also work along the great thread of how to exploit the fear of the dark which runs throughout here. Guided along by the opening story that tells the rules of the ghostly behavior, this one really gets a lot of mileage out of the fear of the dark here which really makes this one a lot more chilling and creepy. This also gives another feel here for the big-energy action scenes here of the rampage through the police station taking out the force in one chilling, high-energy fashion or the attack in the hospital staff where it throws around the staff in thrilling fashion while also further the darkness angle to aid the action. The finale in the lighthouse is even more fun here with the race to get the lights on against the encroaching darkness, the high-energy brawling and the fantastic spectacle to finish it off is also a part of this one's better elements that all come together, along with the creepy look of the spirit in its mask and charred look that makes this one quite enjoyable against the flaws. The biggest factor against this one is the rather tamed and toned-down feeling of the whole thing, with this one really exploiting the rating here without offering any kind of brutality in the kills here as they're edited beyond all comprehension or just featuring here dragging them away and not killing them on-screen which really lowers this one quite a bit. The other factor against this one is the rather lacksidaisical mid-section here with the endless tests and procedures that aren't really all that enjoyable here reiterating the same thing over and over here about his night terrors, the lack of sleep and being terrorized of the dark like how he was as a kid that jest feels like endless variations on the same thing to keep the film going and bring him into the story by ignoring a lot of signs to do that. These here do manage to hold it down, but it's still enjoyable enough here.Rated PG-13: Violence, Language and children-in-jeopardy.

This is a brilliant film, this is one of those film that really show why some people were scare of the dark as a young kid & why some time the fear of the dark goes to adulthood this is one example of a film that shows that.Inspired by the real dark fairy tale of the tooth fairy from brother grim story's & an age old story of waltzing Matilda known as the tooth fairy who's husband died at sea which gave us the famous song waltzing Matilda a famous Australian song.This story take you in to the heart of the darkness & your inner fears to truly terrify you to the bone.On the DVD is has a true history back ground story of waltzing Matilda which is a pretty sad story but a frightening back ground story for her, but this film is one of the best horror film's I've seen in a while. this is one film I recommend that you wont be disappointed with a lot of people will probably say it was a bad film not worth watching but I recommend you watch it for your self's because the story & back ground really sets the tone for this film's concept & the dark horror theme that really show why you should be scared of the dark.

I don't know why they have to keep pumping these kind of horror films out. The kind that use nothing but jump scares to try to scare the viewer. I never get scared by jump scenes so I was very unimpressed. The acting was bad, the story line silly and ridiculous. And like I said of course it was not scary in the slightest.This movie is about a town that is apparently haunted by a ghost known as the tooth fairy. When you lose a tooth the tooth fairy comes into your room for it. Unlike the childs tale though this ghost takes your tooth but if you wake up during the process and look at her she kills you. This movie follows a young man who was a victim of the tooth fairy when he was young but survived by turning on the lights.As you can see by my description I don't really like this movie. I only recommend this movie to little kids because if your an adult this movie will just annoy you most likely
