Meet Dave (2008)

Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!

Such a frustrating disappointment

I'll tell you why so serious

Admirable film.

Continuing my plan to watch every Eddie Murphy movie in order, I come to Meet Dave (2008)Plot In A Paragraph: A crew of miniature aliens operate a spaceship that has a human form. While trying to save their planet from destruction, the aliens encounter a variety of problems.Although I'm not 100% sure what was going on before I turned it off, Meet Dave is pretty much movie making by numbers. Murphy doing his big grin? check. A bathroom joke? check. lame romance? check. A bit of physical comedy? check. Woeful melodrama meant to tug at the heartstrings?? check. Feel-good ending?? check. Murphy sleepwalks Through this one. He doesn't even look like he is trying to hide it. And of courseMurphy playing dual roles. Minus the fat suit or heavy make up this time.I know I'm in the bad era of Murphy movies now, but I would say this is the worst Murphy I have watched!! Yes, worse than both Best Defence and Pluto Nash. I at least made it al the way through those movies.Meet Dave was a box office bomb only grossing $11 million at the domestic box office (Pluto Nash is the only Eddie Murphy movie to gross less) and it did not place in the Top 100 highest grossers of the year.

The idea, although ridiculous might have been nice. And the movie is certainly helped a lot by Murphy's acting skills. Yet, it is slow and boring and the special effects are of low quality, yet not cartoonish enough to help with the comic relief. this is a simple and sweet movie for parents and children to watch together and have some fun!not too much can be said about this movie outside of the fact that eddie murphy is always funny and using his body as a 'spaceship' was genius. the space ship crew is full of wacky characters that must learn 'earth ways' quickly to achieve their mission. and in that the story unfolds into many laughs. nothing ugly or obscene happens here. just lots of visual gags and plenty of dumb laughs.and the ends offers a real message all children and adults need to hear more often. so give this funny but dumb movie a try! and i bet once you watch it you won't forget it!!

Very, very bad movie. Felt like I was watching Coming to America again. Just bad. Make it go away and never, ever appear on television again. Two absolute hours of my life wasted. would have rather re-roofed a house in 110 degree weather, endured a sewage filled cruise ship and/or eaten blowfish. Horrible and it is littered with bad taste and a usual plot. Horrible camera work, and ungodly editing, Terribly bad casting, and wonderfully incoherent dialogue makes in a top 50 in the worst films of all time world wide!Please do watch this atrocity as it makes no sense and would be a favorite to those who like looking at ugly houses and rotten carpet.
