Good concept, poorly executed.

Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.

Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.

It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.

Imagine a 90 minute long car chase, but with a bike instead. That's practically what 'Premium Rush' is, and it's just as tedious as it sounds. There's usually a good reason for why some things have never been attempted before, so I don't know why they didn't take the hint that a bike chase movie wasn't wanted or needed. The end result of this silly idea is a boring, repetitive and crappy little action flick. It's just about watchable, though the setting of New York city helps enormously with that. The story, the bike chases, the script... very uninteresting. 'Premium Rush' was never going to be good. A bad idea for a film and an equally bad end result.

It is like that book that which you pick up, you cant put down, not even for a second, until you finish it. Except in this case, you cant even look right or left or you miss an important happening. This movie doesn't have a single boring scene! The reason most people have given it a low rating must be because of the simple story, but sometimes a simple story is told with such suspense and artistry, that it makes a movie "perfect". The acting, of course, is flawless too. Another reason why I think people must have given it a low rating must be because it may seem a bit unrealistically childish at some points, but then there was no line put at the start of the movie claiming that the story narrated is a true-life story. I think, it is a different movie and is so grasping, while being so simple.

I hadn't heard of this film when I saw it at the cinema. A film about bicycle couriers? Well… I like Joseph Gordon-Levitt. I really like Michael Shannon. I often like ordinary-guy-caught- up-in-crime-conspiracy films. So what the hell - popped in… … and I'm very glad that I did! What a cracking little film. Gordon-Levitt is cocky but liable; Dania Ramirez is a female supporting character with guts (hurrah!); Wolé Parks and Aasif Mandvi provide comic support… and Michael Shannon does some wonderfully fun scenery-chewing (reminding me of Ray Liotta)… Sure there are some cheesy moments in the script, and a silly "YEAH, NEW YORK CITY" camaraderie ending, but all in all, I liked it. Verdict: The probably the best film about bicycle couriers you'll see in a while!yetanotherfilmreviewblog.tumblr.com

'Premium Rush' is indeed A Thrill Ride! Its furiously paced, crisply written, correctly directed & also well-acted. In short, a good watch!'Premium Rush' Synopsis: In Manhattan, a bike messenger picks up an envelope that attracts the interest of a dirty cop, who pursues the cyclist throughout the city.'Premium Rush' works almost throughout. The story moves on a furious pace, although I must say, the pace slightly slows down in its second-hour. But, things get back on track with a lifting climax. The best aspect about 'Premium Rush' is its brisk pace, that never allows you to slow down. David Koepp & John Kamps's Screenplay is indeed well-done, delivering an engaging tale. David Koepp's Direction, on the other-hand, is perfect. Cinematography captures all the madness with zeal. Editing is superiorly done, as well.Performance-Wise: Joseph Gordon-Levitt is the right guy for the part & he shines. Michael Shannon is the show-stopper, though. He nails it as the antagonist. Dania Ramirez is effective. Jamie Chung is very sincere. On the whole, 'Premium Rush' has merits.
