It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

I wish I gave the film 1,000 out of 10. I first saw the movie on Netflix, and I loved it. I still love it today. It's the story of 5 dinosaurs traveling to the Great Valley, while at the same time, avoiding a Sharptooth. The animation is splendid. The plot is great. Now let's all talk about the main characters. Spike is cute when he acts lazy, with a big appetite. Petrie is so hilariously adorable. Cera is very cute when acting tough. Littlefoot is very adorable. But the cutest of them all is Ducky. She is adorable in every conceivable way. Yep, yep, yep. Buy it for your kids. 1,000/10

I had very fond memories of watching "The Land Before Time" - well over 20 years ago. It was a very simple, easy to follow, and very subtly a teaching moment type of movie. Of course, being a child of around 6 years of age at its release, the teaching moment was simply "DINOSAURS! COOOOL!!"Fast forward a couple of decades. Having scrolled through a vast online movie depository - come on, does it matter which one? - the title "The Land Before Time" triggers a memory. "D-D-D-D-DAAANGEE- E-E-RRRR!" Hmm. My kids are at school - I say let's board the bus and go hit up memory lane! Two days later, after having watched it twice myself, once with my two kids - twice - I started deeply analyzing why this had struck such a chord. I could find absolutely nothing I disliked, nothing that my adult sensibilities would have outgrown. The characters were as innocent, innovative and wily as I had found them to be so long ago. The animation is lively, seamless and warm. The painted backgrounds are vivid, colorful and primal. The score serves to solidify the personalities, the predicaments and the victories of the characters that it is underpinning. The voice acting, especially the youngest of the cast, is heartfelt, brought to life by talented children who, by all accounts, loved their involvement in the production. The combination of Bluth, Goldman, Pomeroy, Spielberg, Lucas and Horner at the helm produced a beloved, classic and timeless movie that nearly 30 years of age has done absolutely nothing to tarnish. No wonder, then, that it was the highest grossing animated film of the, well, time!My children are fond this movie, sure...but I like to think that I found a conduit to my own happy childhood memories, amplified when my kids come in close and accompany me on that memory lane field trip. At this rate, they might tire of "The Land Before Time" sooner than their father. It's a chance I'm willing to take!"The Land Before Time" gets 10 of 10 stars.

This is the First animated movie I seen in my life. It symbolizes the beginning of my life. I was only 3 years old. My fuc** God, as time goes fast. Today I have 24 years old and already watched much better animations, but this will always have a special place in my heart for nostalgic reasons. But even leaving aside the nostalgia, it's a FACT that "The Land Before time" is the best animated dinosaur movie Ever. Over the years, we have atrocities as "We're Back! The Dinosaur's Story" (1993) and the rip-offs Disney's "Dinosaur" (2000). Even Pixar can't to make a better dinosaur movie, with its disappointing and unsatisfactory "The Good Dinosaur" (2015).Nothing is able to overcome this Bluth pearl, with its touching story, its memorable characters and animated scenarios in pastel colors (Bluth's trademark). And what tell about the fuc**g soundtrack? Is James Horner in the best; the man was really inspired.☆ 10/10

Let's travel back in time together back to more simpler Times, back when I still walked the earth of the State of Georgia. when an entire millennium turned and changed right before our very eyes, when Earth's History changed forever, when we were discovering Brand New Dinosaurs we never saw before and did not even know existed, and learning brand new things about the Dinosaurs we thought we already knew all about, when I was in a Grade called Kindergarten, and back when I was just an aspiring Future Paleontologist. These simpler Times were none other than the Prehistoric Early 2000's. Somewhere in the Prehistoric Early 2000's Long Ago, I still lived in Georgia but I was in Kindergarten, I wanted to be a Paleontologist in the Future due to my most Xtreme Love for the Dinosaurs that ruled our Planet for 220 Million Years, and I never seen any Film before in my entire Life. But then both of those would change forever, when I first saw Don Bluth's very own Masterpiece in all Film Making ever, Don Bluth's The Land Before Time. I will start by talking about the Story which is about a Young Male Alamosaurus named Littlefoot who has to migrate all the way to the Great Valley in Late Cretaceous Period California with his Mother and Grandparents due to their Food Sources being depleted and their original home becoming drier and more dangerous but Herds of every other Herbivorous Dinosaur that coexist with those Sauropods are also migrating to the Great Valley as well, but when Littlefoot's Mother gets killed after battling against a Tyrannosaurus Rex named Sharptooth, it is up to Littlefoot to make it to the Great Valley and reunite with his Grandparents on his own, but after meeting a Yong Female Saurolophus named Ducky, a Young Male Dravidosaurus named Spike, a Young Female Triceratops named Cera, and finally a Young Male Pteranodon Longiceps named Petrie he forms a Herd of his very own to migrate to the Great Valley with, but will they put their differences aside to work towards a common Goal while Sharptooth the Tyrannosaurus Rex hunts them down, and finally make it there? Will they finally kill Sharptooth the Tyrannosaurus Rex once and for all to avenge Littlefoot's Mother in an Epic Final Battle? I now have to talk about the Animation and Art, which I will never forget, this might sound old fashioned of me but I have to say that I love the traditional hand drawn animation of this Masterpiece because it is it realistic, detailed, beautiful to look at, intense, epic, and even majestic especially by 1988 standards, the Art in this Masterpiece is well done and well drawn, and even immerses you in this Late Cretaceous Period Dinosaur World Don Bluth himself has created. All I ever have to say about the Characters is that I loved them so much I named all Five of my own Pet Ducklings after them. Because Don Bluth's The Land Before Time is a Dinosaur Film not to mention the ONLY Dinosaur Film Don Bluth ever made, I of course have to talk about the Dinosaurs and my Paleontological Opinions about them, for 1988 all of the Dinosaurs, and Prehistoric Animals in this, except for Rooter the Scolosaurus are surprisingly all Paleontologically Accurate and still hold up in terms of Paleontological Accuracy even to this day, including Sharptooth the Tyrannosaurus Rex who is not only the right size, and undeniably looks like a Tyrannosaurus Rex but also accurately has two Fingers and not three (unlike two other certain Tyrannosaurus Rexes!) the only complaints I have about the Dinosaurs and/or the other Prehistoric Animals are. Spike lacks his Plates, both Cera and the Baby Triceratops only have one Horn making them look like Baby Monoclonius, and making Cera look like a Young Female Monoclonius, Rooter does not have his Tail Club making him look like less like a Scolosaurus, and more like a Panoplosaurus, and the Pteranodon Longiceps are too small, but hey Don Bluth's The Land Before Time did come out in 1988 so I cannot complain about, nor get mad at its Scientific Inaccuracies too much, and hey I could show Mercy too, and forgive them, and let them slide. And finally I talk about the Impact Don Bluth's The Land Before Time made and left on me and my Childhood ever since seeing it, well first of all it inspired by to become the Independent Film Going Film Maker Film Animator Film Critic that I am right now and still am to this day, Don Bluth's The Land Before Time inspired me to go see other Films animated or not where and whenever I could, it inspired me to make my very own Films, and it still does even to this day, it inspired me to make my very own Dinosaur Films, which I still make even to this day heck I am even making a Dinosaur Film right now that is inspired by Don Bluth's The Land Before Time, and Don Bluth's The Land Before Time made me respect, admire, and love both Don Bluth and all of his Work he does, but best of all Don Bluth's The Land Before Time inspired me to have a reason to even make my very own Films, to bring the Dinosaurs back from Extinction, and back to Life on Film and resurrect the Non Avian Dinosaurs that I love so much that have been long extinct through the Film Making Art Form that is Film Animation, and Don Bluth's The Land Before Time is, and will always be an Inspiration for every Non Avian Reptilian Dinosaur Film that I have made and will always continue to make, and for every Realistic Scientifically Accurate Scientifically Correct Scientifically Sound Palaeontological Dinosaur Film that I have made and will still always be making these Days, in this Day and Age, and this Year in 2016 for all Eternity!!!!!!!!
