Three generations of the rowdy Cutler family live as outlaws in some of Britain's richest countryside – hunting hares, ram-raiding stately homes, and taunting the police. Struggling to retain a way of life fast becoming extinct, Chad Cutler ends up caught between his father's archaic principles and trying to do right by his kids, whilst the full force of the law is finally catching up with him.

It is not deep, but it is fun to watch. It does have a bit more of an edge to it than other similar films.

In this seductive British drama Michael Fassbender plays a young father and member of a Traveller family caught in a very tricky situation. The language is rich with slang ('gorgies' are people who live in houses), and you realize this is a movie made by someone knowing the territory. Their accents may not be perfect but the duel between father and son, with violence just underneath the surface, is extremely convincing. There are serious themes at play: family conflict and the inheritance as well as rejection of values. The film also delivers fun with details like hiding from a police helicopter under a cow or joyriding in tiny cars through estates both council and gentry. It's a teasing celebration of outsiderdom without being an endorsement.

A man looks to find a way to escape the criminal ways of his outlaw family. Although it does touch a good and touching subject about Family and Parenting 'Trespass Against Us' suffers from a troubled script and an awkward shift of tone threw out the whole thing. For example the movie starts in this awkward way with Fassbender's son driving a car and he basically just sits there laughing about it. Plus the dialogue from both Fassbender and Gleeson is also a big issue since it's kinda over the top sometimes and kinda dumb. The drama also doesn't work at all and it's a waste of both talent and time for both of this 2 great actors. (5/10)

Whenever you have the skill-set of Michael Fassbender and Brendan Gleeson at your disposal there's going to be a certain level of expectation attached to your product and while first time director Adam Smith and screenwriter Alastair Siddons story has many possibilities attached to it, this English set family drama that mixes in uneasy crime and comedy undertones is a highly disappointing affair.Trespass Against Us starts out in promising fashion as we're thrust into the caravan lives of the Cutler family led by Gleeson's matriarchal figure Colby, with his right hand man and son coming in the form of Fassbender's Chad, but things within Smith's film start to fall apart as we become aware that the film is finding it unnaturally tough when it comes to balancing the various plot threads and strands that are flowing through the veins of the picture. We're thrown around from random robberies, car chases, family dramas and animal killings without much care for making us in fact care about what's going on and at the end of the day Smith's film that initially seems like something cut from a different cloth ends up being yet another poor criminal trying to be better than his upbringing suggests and also acts out another disappointing experience from Michael Fassbender's recent career lull.A few years ago on the back of breakouts in Hunger and Inglorious Basterds then star making turns in 12 Years a Slave and Shame, Fassbender seemed likely to enter into another stage of his career only to be central to disappointments like Assassin's Creed, Light Between Oceans and The Counselor and while his actual performance as Chad here is one of his best in a few years, it's a shame the talented performer is starting to frequent feature films that are far from matching his undeniable talents as a leading man.Final Say – There's some nice things happening through Trespass Against Us but they're moments that are few and far between when we are emotionally unattached from a majority of the films occurrences and while Fassbender is working hard and Gleeson is as stoic as ever, this small scale family crime drama is a hugely disappointing experience that was disguised as a fresh take on a familiar scenario.1 ½ fire extinguishers out of 5

This film tells the story of an outcast criminal family, who lives in a trailer park somewhere in the United Kingdom. The main character's life is plagued with problems, as they have a controlling father, a mentally challenged brother and two children who grow up under a dubious environment."Tresspass Against Us" reminds me of "Captain Fantastic" because of their outcast status and unconventional lifestyle and the focus on the effect on the children's lives. "Tresspass Against Us" tells a more diverse story, as the entire family structure contribute equally to the story. Despite the mostly small time criminality and their obvious disrespect for the authorities, I still have developed much sympathy towards the family's hardship and challenges. I am touched by the Kel' determination for the children to be in school, and by the memorable ending. It is sad that the downfall is brought on by a human trait other than serious criminality. I find this film charming and engaging.
